NEW YORK -- Peace activist Cindy Sheehan, who protested the Iraq war by camping outside President Bush's Texas ranch, went on trial with three other women Tuesday on charges of trespassing at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

The women tried to deliver an anti-war petition with 70,000-plus signatures to mission officials on March 6.

The problem, as I see it ( re jail time ), is that it is a first offense, the offenses are misdemeanors, and ordinary people would get a slap on the wrist for a conviction of all of them. Crazy Cindy may not even get a jury trial, so it depends on who put the judge she gets, on the bench.

It really isn't as simple as you say it is.

If I annoyed you by stepping in, I apologize, it wasn't my intention. I truly do read all of you FReepers and enjoy your posts; I just hoped I could ameliorate a situation and have an interesting thread, and another great FR discussion.

I'm not bothered, either, if you want to turn around and have at me, instead of the other Missouri FReeper, who I suspect isn't as used to some FR ways, and probably not all that familiar with you.

I liked you all, before this. But one thing is true: I will not be missed, if I don't post, or if I don't read here. Neither will my fellow Missourian.

If you would reread ALL of my replies to you, you will see that I in no way went after you, until quite late in the series of replies.

No matter WHO leaves, or just takes a break from posting to FR, someone is sure to miss them. That IS the nature of FR. :-)

Pssssssssssssssssssst......I no longer live in N.Y.; haven't for the past 3+ decades. But, it's still my home town and someplace I know VERY well, since I still DO get into the city.
