Many freepers kindly helped to get a FRhomepage organized on Internet Explorer. It should look organized, now.

"We are Australian, through and through, and we refer to the English, not just as English, but as Poms. Or pommy bastards. Or bloody whingeing poms. That last expression comes about because the Poms have always been perceived as coming over as immigrants and then continually complaining about the state of affairs in Australia. "It's too hot", whinge the Poms. "The beaches are too sandy!" they cry. "The sea is too wet!". And so on, and so forth. At least that's been the stereotype.
Too many bloody fresh vegetables in the food over here, if you ask me. Cant get a decent fry up for love or money

Ok-I live in Sydney Australia, and we have 3 national newspapers and 4 national telivision stations and they NEVER made any mntion of this here in OZ. I don't understand why the media here has been able to keep this quiet. This is such a major event and yet the first I have heard of the C-17's arrival in Australia was here on FreeRepublic.com.
I'm thinking it has been overshadowed by the selection of Kevin Rudd as the new leader of the Looney Left.
I'm just dissapointed that Kim Beazley is no longer in charge.(I kind of liked the guy because of his vast exerience on the party.)

I heard on the radio this morning that Charleston AFB, SC is staging a 21-ship formation flyover of C-17s on December 21st.

I know this is a dumb question but how does the C17 compare with the C5A for size and payload capability?

People the C-17 Globemaster is not in the mold of C5 a pure heavy lift strategy transport...it a combo heavy lift /STOL tactical transport (think a heavy lift C130)
