Ok-I live in Sydney Australia, and we have 3 national newspapers and 4 national telivision stations and they NEVER made any mntion of this here in OZ. I don't understand why the media here has been able to keep this quiet. This is such a major event and yet the first I have heard of the C-17's arrival in Australia was here on FreeRepublic.com.
I'm thinking it has been overshadowed by the selection of Kevin Rudd as the new leader of the Looney Left.
I'm just dissapointed that Kim Beazley is no longer in charge.(I kind of liked the guy because of his vast exerience on the party.)

If it's any comfort, I live in the US, and FR is the first place I hear a lot of our news.

People I know think I'm psychic because I'll mention a news story weeks before it makes the popular press...

I saw a bit about it last night on Channel Ten news in Melbourne, but I think virtually everything else did get crowded out by Rudd - the half hour news programs only have time for one big story, it seems.

And Beazley, for all his leftist ways, was actually pretty good on defence, and I wonder what approach Rudd will take on that important issue for a start.
