Ex-President Carter Talks of Funeral Plans

Former President Jimmy Carter said Sunday he hopes to be buried in front of his home in Plains, the southwest Georgia town where he and his wife were born. "Plains is special to us," the 82-year-old said during a three-hour live C-SPAN2 interview. "I could be buried in Arlington Cemetery or wherever I want, but my wife was born here and I was born here."

As a child, Carter briefly lived next door to Rosalynn, and the two began dating in 1945. The couple married the next year and in July celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

"Plains is where our hearts have always been," he said.

Carter said there are also plans for a funeral in Washington as well as a brief display of his body in Atlanta.

Carter stated further that he hoped mortuary technicians would be able to remove the rope burn marks from around his neck.

I gave a funeral and no one showed up!
Harry Cohn was still in charge of everything at Columbia when he died of a heart attack in 1958, at the age of sixty-six. It was raw and rainy on the day of his funeral, but a large crowd gathered to see the last of him, which prompted Red Skelton to remark, “It goes to show that the public will always come if you give them what they want.”

Jimmah has already overstayed his welcome so has Castro. A twofer funeral is the best idea I have seen all day.

Good to hear. If he were buried in Arlington, I wouldn't be able to piss on his grave.

he hopes to be buried in front of his home in Plains,

Is it a cemetery, otherwise how could this happen? I'd like to buried in my backyard but I am told it is illegal.

Once Mr. Carter is gone, it's going to be rather interesting how the MSM and Academia present his presidential legacy. Somehow all of his failings will be the fault of either Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush. Take your pick.

There is a place Jimmah should have been one September morning. Unfortunately he wasn't. I give the bastard 3 more years of incompetant and disruptive meddling plus 1 year on death watch. 10/24/10. Think how universally hated he will be by then.

Isn't it against the law to be buried on your own property?

Why should this clown be exempt from the law? I'm sure nobody would want to by the realestate (no doubt his lousy family will sell it off for the money) with his corpse and monument to himself devalueing the place.

He should be buried where every other worthless bum is buried.

"I could be buried in Arlington Cemetery or wherever I want, but my wife was born here and I was born here."

The bastard does not deserve to be buried in Arlington. If he is, a lot of people will be watering his grave.

"Carter is a perfect example of the maxim: No one is useless, you can always serve as a bad example."

I can't quarrel with your maxim! LOL!!!
