"MIAMI WAS MORE DANGEROUS THAN BAGHDAD, IRAQ"

He hasn't been to Baltimore. ;-)

>> MOVE! <<

There is nowhere ANYONE can raise a family in the US on $5.15 an hour... but even if there were, I'd be pretty damned angry that I had to leave where I was living because illegal immigrants force me out of my home.

Miami, Fla exceeds the national average in all crime categories, violent and property.

You do know that the actual City of Miami is only a fraction (and holds not much more than 15% of the population) of what people consider "Miami," i.e., Miami-Dade County, don't you?

Miami-Dade County population, 2005 estimate: 2,376,014
City of Miami population, 2003 estimate: 376,815

Espinosa said that contributes to poverty and crime, and he cited a recent documentary that claimed MIAMI WAS MORE DANGEROUS THAN BAGHDAD, IRAQ

I've never had a handle on the Tancredo crowd other than as ardent anti-illegal immigration types, but after a couple of days of replies by them on these anti-Miami threads, one thing has become clear: They are gullible, ignorant fools who swallow hook, line and sinker any piece of blatantly untrue garbage thrown out there. Sheesh.

"Corporations don't import illegals."

You are sadly mistaken. Agri-businesses have been importing workers for yrs....legally. Which is fine because it was done within the law. Illegals don't just walk across the border and hoping they'll find work. There are representatives from these companies who are actively searching for workers with certain job skills to work in the US. There was a large Chinese laundry business in Chicago who were sending vans down to the border to pick these workers up and bring them back.

But there is a bit of a twist. Most of Miami's immigrants are legal and came from Cuba.

Don't tell me you are one of the last people who haven't figured out that the Tancredo crowd doesn't like legal immigrants much more then they like illegal ones.

His position is essentially this, "I like legal immigrants, but we don't want more of them, matter of fact, we want a lot less."

Which essentially means, "I don't like immigrants."

Ok bill, you do realize, do you not, that MOST Americans, including most of us here, do NOT want what Bush wants on this issue.

You're wrong on that. Most Americans don't want 'Amnesty', true, but when you ask them, 'Should we allow guest workers,' the answer is overwhelmingly 'Yes'. When you ask them, 'Should illegal aliens with otherwise clean records, who pay back taxes, fines, and learn english, be allowed to stay?' again, the answer is 'Yes'.

That is why Tancredo calls every single proposal that isn't his 'Amnesty', because he knows 'Amnesty' polls poorly, while the things he calls 'Amnesty', which either clearly isn't Amnesty (guest workers, especially in the form of the Pence plan), or arguably isn't (earned citizenship), poll much better.

Tancredo has never attempted to win this debate on substance. It's always a semantics dance.

Uhh, the House/Senate was a compromise too. It wasn't just the 3/5ths clause.

The point is that compromise with a bad thing is a bad thing. Neither proportional or balanced representation is inherently evil; slavery and the shamnesty are.

They never, ever say anything about the Northern border, probably because most Canadians are white and speak English.

How many illegal Canadian aliens are there in the US?

Nor do they ever mention that up to half of all illegals don't come here via our southern border but enter legally (as tourists or students) and then overstay and disappear from the system. These don't tend to be Spanish speaking.

That doesn't fit into his race card.

Neither proportional or balanced representation is inherently evil;

Neither is immigration.

And 'shamnesty', as you call it, even if I agreed with your definition, which I undoubtedly don't, as Tancredo's definition of Amnesty is fundementally illogical, isn't either.

I'm getting into heaven because I was granted 'Amnesty'. It might not always be good, but it's certainly not always evil.

Depending on how you define 'Canadian', a lot.

The border patrol captured more people from islamic nations coming into America illegally from Canada then Mexico since 9/11. And that's with less border guards over a much longer border.

So please, don't try to sell me this crap about Tancredo's stance on immigration being about 'National Security'. If it were about national security, he'd realize that terrorists don't care if they come from Canada or Mexico, and that it would be a lot easier to catch terrorist if you let people who only wanted a job in legally.

Annoy me?

He's validated everything I've ever said about him AND put another nail in the coffin of his political career.

Colorado is as far as he gets.

Annoy me?

I'm pleased as punch.
