"What is really troubling is that the entire Bush Family does not take the immigration issue serious..."

Nope. And that is why they and their more extreme followers just can't stand Tancredo, he dares tell it like it is.

"Other than shooting off his mouth, what has Tom actually done?"

Annoy you?

"Tommy Boy is going to wind up like Pat Buchanan-loud, unelectable..."

Tancredo already calls himself "unelectable." He knows he doesn't have the money to win. But he can be "loud" by being a candidate and forcing other candidates to talk more about immigration in the debates and to move other candidates to the right during the primaries.

"...in the future, defended by only about four or five Freepers who meet in a basement and call themselves the Tancredo Movement."

Keep dreaming. Who are you, Miss Cleo?

Actually, that is not true!

Many legal immigrants ( and yes, there were also ILLEGAL immigrants.....even in the 19th century! )came from places and held views that were completely antithetical to the then culture of American and republicanism. From the Irish to the Russians and Poles and on and on and on!

There was NOTHING "compatible" between Chinese and American "culture" in the 19th century. The same is also true in the early 20th century for China and other countries.

"I have no doubt that people of wealth can still lead a comfortable and pleasant life in Miami, but ask yourself why ordinary middle-class citizens are leaving in such high numbers."

Me thinks what Tom told Bush may be the reason some here ignore the facts.

Tancredo can't sue Jeb Bush for slander.

"No surprise you would have a problem with Jeb being married to someone of Mexican descent."

No surprise you would try and twist my comment into a 'racial' one. Isn't accusing someone of being racist AGAINST board rules?

Ya'll are going to have to come up with a different plan of attack. Illegal alien is NOT a race.

"It's been 6 years since I've been in Miami. Is it really so bad?"

"Tancredo spokesman CARLOS ESPINOSA said the congressman stood behind his comments, saying they echoed what he has said for years about isolated immigrant communities that resist assimilation and cling to their native languages and customs.

Espinosa said that contributes to poverty and crime, and he cited a recent documentary that claimed MIAMI WAS MORE DANGEROUS THAN BAGHDAD, IRAQ."

"And only a very FEW members and nonmembers have voted on that poll."

Whatever makes you feel better.

I don't need any poll to show me that the open borders lobby, the people who think a guest worker amnesty is a good idea and the FReepers who trash people like Tom Tancredo, J.D. Hayworth, Steve King, Ted Poe among other conservative republicans are in the small minority here. I already know this crowd is more loud than numerous.

Well, obviously FACTS don't matter at all to you. Why am I not surprised? LOL

I have NEVER "trashed" J.D.Hayward on FR, or in real life; not even once. I've never even heard of King or Poe; let alone trashed them.

Now, wee Terrible Tommyboy.....that IS another kettle of fish! :^)

Tancredo changed nothing. His position has been the same from the get go, effectively secure the borders and enforce our immigration laws. You're just pissed off because his position conflicts with Bush's and for the good of this country, he refuses to back down, it's what the majority of Americans want, just not what YOU want. You clearly have appreciated the determination in Bush, but hate 'Tommy' for it.

Ha....somehow I missed it, but i see it now.....I don't know what happened to the rules around here? Everytimg a NAU or Tancredo thread comes up, they immediately crawl out from somewhere to attack. 'Know Nothings', 'One Issue Voters', and lately a lot of race cards. You know what I think it is, many are still so wrapped up in Bush and refuse to move forward, while we finally HAVE people like Tancredo and Hunter uniting us, speaking out in support of what most ALL Americans want, solid on this issue, and are Reps that we can get behind. Frankly, its refreshing to hear the honest truth. Hunter has an excellent voting record, been fighting it for years! Unfortunately Bush was successful in dividing the party and even though he has only 2 years left, he took quite a few people with him. This will be the hot button issue, here at FR and across the country, until it is resolved. I am so grateful that there ARE Reps. that want to secure the borders from terrorists and enforce our laws. I just hope it isn't too late. Did you see these? Pathetic.
