THAT WAS certainly swift. Washington has a way of quickly acculturating people, especially those who are most susceptible to derangement by the derivative dignity of office. But Jim Webb, Democratic senator-elect from Virginia, has become a pompous poseur and an abuser of the English language before actually becoming a senator.
Wednesday's Washington Post reported that at a White House reception for newly elected members of Congress, Webb "tried to avoid President Bush," refusing to pass through the reception line or have his picture taken with the President. When Bush asked Webb, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "I'd like to get them (sic) out of Iraq." When the President again asked, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "That's between me and my boy." Webb told the Post

The south end of a jackass en-route to the north pole, comes to mind. What a kind and loving nature. Just makes you go all warm and fuzzy to learn more of the folks newly elected as representatives of the people. Sure gives one an all new perspective of whom the people might be, that elected the....
I Don't want to hear any whining whatsoever about someone changing their stripes after the election. Elect a democrat, and in most cases you won't find what you were looking for. Frankly, I can't even imagine democrats wanting what their elected officials have in store for them. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

How does the next two years in the Antartica guarding the latrine sound?
Careful. The Royal Order of the Bluenose is a great honor among marines and sailors.

The DBM and the ignorant susceptibility of the electorate to buy into their DNC, compromised 'news' brought us Webb... and sank Allen, Weldon, Santorum... etc. In the 2006 election, we saw how well FOX News, Limbaugh and the Internet countered the 24/7 assault of DBM lies, distortions and propaganda.
It was simply... overwhelmed.

Jim Webb: Born Idiot.
Too bad we Virginians are stuck with this moron for the next six years. At least it might be an entertaining (if somewhat embarassing) ride, if he doesn't do too much damage.

Webb offended Will's limitless prissiness.
It was a lot worse than that.

I have seen a couple of versions of Webb's initial response to Bush's question. One is "I'd like for them to come home", the other is "I'd like for him to come home".
Which one is right?

Why did his "boy" enlist? Because Daddy is a closet child-molester and the "boy" wanted to get the hell out of the house and learn how to protect himself, maybe?

Senator Webb has proven a "hero" can also be a punk.
He and Jacques Kerrie (also a "hero") should get along well together in that collegial chamberpot known as the US Senate.
