THAT WAS certainly swift. Washington has a way of quickly acculturating people, especially those who are most susceptible to derangement by the derivative dignity of office. But Jim Webb, Democratic senator-elect from Virginia, has become a pompous poseur and an abuser of the English language before actually becoming a senator.
Wednesday's Washington Post reported that at a White House reception for newly elected members of Congress, Webb "tried to avoid President Bush," refusing to pass through the reception line or have his picture taken with the President. When Bush asked Webb, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "I'd like to get them (sic) out of Iraq." When the President again asked, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "That's between me and my boy." Webb told the Post

"Webb told the Post"
Oh, so Webb wanted to make sure this story got published. Part of his tough guy persona, no doubt. Well, he's now a hero to the nutjobs. Probably what he wanted.
"Why did his "boy" enlist?"
Why do we have a military, if the country doesn't support them?
/sarcasm
Yep, Webb is one very sick dog. I wonder what he's done to "his boy"?
webb is now the face and voice of Virginia. To those that did not vote or voted dim... ENJOY IT!

Like father, like son!

My father volunteers at the information desk at the courthouse in the country where he lives, and he heard that there were some voters--in this month's election--who were distraught and complained that their ballots did not have the candidates for president or for the mayor of their town. You guessed it, there was no mayoral election this year either.
Outside of Zell Miller; I HATE ALL dims!!! ALL OF THEM!

The Bush haters are a low and vile mob.
Aw, don't feel too bad. Look on the bright side, you could live in Massachusetts.....
You like a dim a$$hole that insults our President?

The same way my state elects Cantwell, Murray, Gregoire, McDermott, and a plethora of other Democrats - pure ignorance and idiocy. Hope that helps. :)
Interesting that you highlighted that choice of words, which stuck out for me, too. I find it just incredulous that Dubya ever referred to that Marine as "boy". His wording of the incident seems to be changing with each account. I find that telling, too.

Please don't remind me. I'm from Massachusetts.
Yes, but at some point campaigns run by the same organizations/personnel exhibit patterns that are discernible. At that point, it is appropriate to acknowledge that patterns of poorly-executed campaigns indicate poorly-executed campaigns.
The media is always "against you." While I agree this can seem insurmountable, I do not agree that a candidate has "no control" over the tenor of the race.
Control may have to start in the proactive phase--as in controlling one's mouth in the first place--but that can go a long way toward not feeding the media monster.
Is that true???
Webb reminds me of Alexandria, Virginia Rep. Moran.
BUMP and mark.
Webb will be revealed to have problems.
His novels suggest something is wrong with the man. His boy is probably safer in Iraq.
From what I read with my own eyes last night, yep. I'll try to find the link. It started with a blurb on wonkette, where she was blistering Webb Jr. for being racist and sexist. Her post had a link to Webb Jr.'s myspace page.
