Any bets on the first poster to insult a large number of Christians and bait "young earth creationists" into jumping into this thread?

Heh heh heh......Watch out, if this fish lived anywhere near Mexico, Dane will show up.

Does this mean that scientists can now quit looking back, since they have now discovered "the first"?

Well, there is in before the zot, I wanted to get in before the hijack. That's all.

It also offends me that you equate christians with science denial. The vast majority of christians accept science.

Reminds me of the song. If you're going to go after Jaws you better bring a tub of tarter sauce.

This fish isn't 400,000,000 years old
because the planet is only 6,000 years along.

Any bets on the first poster to insult a large number of Christians and bait "young earth creationists" into jumping into this thread? Why do this?

I understand how it baits young Earth creationists, but how does it insult a large number of Christians?

Why don't you Cretin/Evil types quit hijacking threads?

I am tired of clicking on what could be an interesting thread and finding you baiting each other.

A plague on both your houses.

You owe dogbyte a coke. I'm a Christian, Scientist, avid Bible student, that believes in a VERY old universe and earth. I just thought the comment was an unwarranted jab, that would invite a highjacking.

(Which, unfortunately, my ill-considered reply and continued discussion will accomplish. My apologies to all).

Well, there is in before the zot, I wanted to get in before the hijack. That's all.

I just saw the comment and thought it was inviting the very highjacking you dreaded.

It also offends me that you equate christians with science denial. The vast majority of christians accept science.

I don't equate the two. No offense meant. I'm a member of the vast majority of Christians who accept science. But the fact is, all young earth creationists are Christians and your comment came across as a slap to them, daring them to defend their viewpoint.

Sorry, if I jumped to conclusions. I really shouldn't have hit the "post" button. I have inadvertently caused a highjacking by discussing it any more at all. My apologies.

A large number of Christians are young earth creationists. (c: The comment was a direct insult to their beliefs, daring them to jump in and defend.

So it's also baiting Christians and insulting young Earth creationists? I don't see how it could be bait one group and not the other, nor insult one group and not the other. I guess I just don't see how questioning a person's beliefs is an insult. People often enough question one another's beliefs and I don't see them as insulting each other.

Actually, it seems that to not question others' beliefs would increase ignorance. If a persons believes something that is in fact an error the sooner they find out it's an error the sooner they can benefit from correcting the error. Likewise, when a belief is correct taking on challenges to it strengthens the belief and makes it easier to take on future challenges.
