He never had a chance. No spine at all. He did help rid the senate of Daschle......and we thank him for that.

Hardly surprising......the guy is a total zero.....his announcement should be that he is finally admitting it. He stands for nothing.

I think it was the only thing he could do. You could have gotten his supporters in a phone booth. His tenure as the Senate Majority Leader confirmed that he was weak, and that he didn't have the leadership skills to lead the nation. He made NotaLott look like Daniel Webster by comparison.

A Republican senator hasn't been elected President since Warren G. Harding in 1920.

Good choice on his part.

Not that I was ever inclined to vote for him anyway.

Now we just have to reject the drive-by-media's choice of McCain vigorously.

Dear Frist,
Thanks for being a p*ssywhipped leader of the senate that squandered one of our best opportunities we have ever had.

Good decision for him. One of the things he did right.

No surprise there. He has zero chance of winning and would draw very little support in the primaries. I agree that he is a has been.

As another FReeper put it, when he speaks he sounds like he's telling some woman she has cancer.

Did anyone hear the buzz about W making him VP with Cheney stepping down? My mother told me; I think she heard it from the panel.

Who cares? It's not like he was going anywhere anyway.

That said, while he was only a so-so Maj. Leader and a poor Presidential Candidate, I still think he's a decent guy. Whatever R is elected next should appoint him Surgen General.
