Radical Islam is understandably perceived as the origin of the majority of terrorism today. The average Muslim on the other hand, is perceived as being a group that would never become involved with terrorism. This perception is seriously flawed and fatally dangerous. What is the source that feeds radical Islam? The religious ideation is extrapolated from the Koran itself. Islam's sacred literature is the source, which allows for the terrorist attacks we see today. Islam is thought to be a peaceful religion. Both history and current events prove otherwise.

Islam is very clear about not being friends with Christians even though Allah is the Arabic name for God. However the God of Islam is not the God Christians worship.

Sura "5.51": O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them;

Islam differs sharply with Christianity on cardinal doctrines like the divinity of Christ and the Holy Trinity. The Koran clearly teaches to kill and dismember your enemies and espouses war for the advancement of Islam. Warfare against unbelievers is repeatedly taught in the Koran. Not every Muslim would ascribe to Jihad and secretly plot against the United States. However sources say Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. (5) With a world population of one in five persons being Muslim, and estimates of 15%, which are radical Muslims, and another 15%, which can be swayed to become radical Muslims, the problem should be apparent. With a population of over one billion Muslims the estimates are 150 million radicals currently with an additional 150 million Muslims who can be recruited into the ranks of radical Islam (6)

While Islam is NOT compatible with Christianity I find it ironic that it IS compatible with "The daVinci Code".

Very good point! Islam was a syncretist heresy based on a bizarre combination of things floating around the ME at the time of Mohammed: Arian Christianity (which was essentially non-Trinitarian), Jewish ritual law, and pagan gods and social practices.

The problem is Islam, not only for us, but for Muslims. For a long time in the West or Westernized cultures, they were able to skate by on a sort of "non-practicing" Islam where they did the major holidays but not much else. However, the dynamic in Islam - throughout its history - is that the "orthodox" element, who actually have the support of Islamic scriptures, take over and crush the more moderate element.

The first time the Muslims were conquered in Spain, they were conquered by other Muslims, a more radical group of Arabs (like Mohammed himself) who conquered the more sophisticated and less orthodox Baghdadi and Persian Muslims who occupied various parts of Spain. We're seeing that happening again in all parts of the Islamic world. But they can only do it because orthodox, scriptural Islam is on their side.

Yes, because despite all the anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric out there the majority of those whom the terrorist threaten are Muslims. They threaten their children, their towns, their arts and literature, their assemblies ... probably even their sports.

Radical Muslims are first and foremost a threat to non-radical Muslims ... who know it and aren't deluded about it one jot.

This is part of why I've previously described terrorism as a form of demographic suicide for any cause––and not just when someone commits a suicide attack.

Second, - the Islam should be outlaw and treated as it really is : hate and fascism.
Then, we can take care of the rest of the Islamic crap.

I am proud to be an infidel . Islam is the cancer on our planet and there are no moderate muslims , don't kid yourselves , they have no allegance to any country , if you are not a muslim you are an infidel plain and simple . Islam is the religion of death not peace . The so called peaceful muslims who say they do not agree with the killing of innocent people are just as big a problem as the ones who advocate this violance . If my church were to take a position such as radical islam has the congregation would surely rise up in disapproval and oust the leaders of the church who advocate violance . If these so called moderate muslims are affraid of reprisal they do not deserve freedom from oppression or the liberties we have fought so hard to keep and maintain in this country . To hell with them , I say give them their 72 virgins as quickly as we can .

Your point about demographic suicide brings up an interesting point.

Polygamy produces a large population of young spare men. Do you know if the UN has taken a position against it? If we're gonna stay in it, may as well make it somewhat useful.

The problem isn't Islam, I can find an equal number of commands to kill in the Old Testament ans in Papal Bulls of the middle ages. The real problem is the Arab culture over which Islam has been superimposed. Arab culture was never subjected to the civilizing influences of the Greeks, Romans or Persians and is a tribal society still mired in the 6th century.

They all dont have to be bonkers. They all are just one "sermon" away from becoming mohamicidal mass murderers though.

How many do you think could be murdered by just one muslime with a suitcase nuke? How many with 19 muslimes with suitcase nukes?

Oh but we should respect their religion, even if it will poisons the earth, and wipes out freedom for generations to come. Because some of them are rationally sane. You have a good point there.

I respect someone's religion (along with the person) as long as they obey the law.

Obviously, any given muslim isn't one sermon away from insanity. The insanity of terrorism is a process.

The terrorism of radical islam is a very complex problem to which there is no instant solution. The idea of genocide is on par with the brutally of terrorism.
