A RASH of pop prophets tell us that Muslims in Europe are reproducing so fast and European societies are so weak and listless that, before you know it, the continent will become "Eurabia," with all those topless gals on the Riviera wearing veils.
Well, maybe not.
The notion that continental Europeans, who are world-champion haters, will let the impoverished Muslim immigrants they confine to ghettos take over their societies and extend the caliphate from the Amalfi Coast to Amsterdam has it exactly wrong...

You can't ignore what someone wrote -- it serves as evidence of what they knew and understand.
I also don't think relying on academics is all that helpful, since they're often highly politicized deconstrucitonists -- or just plain lamebrained. In fact, as a rule, if all academics in a particular field of liberal arts agree on any point, I immediately question whether or not it is true.
And I am sure the TV is such a good source of historical data!!!
Instead of the Law and historians that have studied the period from documents...
Oh yes I forget: and probably Elvis lives and Nessie exists...

Here's the relevant paragraph:
Jews in Shakespeares England lived a shadowed life, hidden from view and frequently in danger. England had expelled its Jewish population in 1290, and Jews were still forbidden to live in the country during Shakespeares lifetime. The law was not strictly enforced, however, and a small community of Jews lived in London, knowing that at any time they could be evicted and their property seized.

Here is one of the relevant paragraphs:
There was a sensational case just before Shakespeare wrote The Merchant of Venice. In 1593 Dr. Rodrigo Lopez, a converted Jew and physician to Queen Elizabeth, was condemned to death for conspiracy against her life. He died protesting his innocence, but the trial publicised all the old accusations against the Jewish people. Neither Queen Elizabeth nor Robert Cecil, Secretary of the Privy Council, believed that Lopez was guilty.
Here's another link that describes the Jews in England at the time of Shakespeare, including a reference to the fact that a Jewish woman may have been the inspiration for the 'Dark Lady' of one of Shakespeare's sonnets.

Here's the relevant paragraph:
Where do the Jews fit in this climate of religious intolerance? Despite their expulsion 300 years earlier, small groups of Jews sought refuge in England from the Spanish Inquisition and were living quietly during Elizabeth's reign. These Jews, known as Marranos or Conversos, people who had converted to Christianity from Judaism, and though they outwardly appeared to be Christians, many retained their Jewish heritage, even if they did not actively participate in Jewish religious practices. Another small group of Jews made its way to London in the 1500s and became musicians at the Court of King Henry VIII. Some scholars have even suggested that the "Dark Lady" of Shakespeare's sonnets was one Emilia Bassano, descended from these same musicians.
Thanks for posting this, and to all who commented. I just read this after taking the weekend off, I was curious to know what my fellow freepers thought of this piece.
Well, Keep hope alive.
Well if this is the same Ralph Peters that wrote War in 2020 then I will definitely take this one with a grain of salt.
Nice point ASC. It speaks well for the future if the gangs of LA can be turned against the Koranimals.
I see that calling you on where you take your data from, giving real data and information doesn't rate as high as trashing a continent where most of the people who talk never went...
Oh well...
Yes, posting data from real statistical offices and not some article in a newspaper and telling about the French law to people isn't what you expect...
Keep on trashing what you ignore... It won't ever do anything to reality, but I am sure you'll feel well...
Don't forget the Knights Hospitaller who were also at Lepanto and who singlehandedly saved Malta which guarded the gateway to the Western Mediterranean.
So Europe doesn't like muslims 'cuz they both hate jews?
It makes no sense....
But it's the hallmark of a weak argument to not point out and rebut the cogent counterpoints. Specifically, Peters does not mention the cowardly behavior of the Spanish voters a couple of years ago.
To wit, this is the first "mainstream" article I've seen that openly asserts that the only course for white/Christian Europeans to prevent "Eurabia" is the removal of the Muslim hordes from Europe's midst.
"Removal" can constitute expulsion of Muslims - including European-born Islamics - or it could mean something even less palatable. But - whatever it might mean - Peters seems to be stating that [in his opinion] nothing less has a reasonable chance of succeeding.
The flip side of the same coin, of course, is Mark Steyn's assertion that Europe will collapse into Eurabia, unable to morally, culturally, demographically or physically defend itself.
I personally believe Steyn is more accurate in his analysis. But either way you look at it, Europe faces an awful choice:
1. Boxcars -or-
2. Burqhas
"Boxcars", you say?
Why, yes: the kind the Germans used to have, with guard cages on the ends.
A dark future, indeed.
