THE 'EURABIA' MYTH
New York Post ^ | November 26, 2006 | Ralph Peters

Posted on 11/26/2006 8:11:28 AM PST by Spacewalker

A RASH of pop prophets tell us that Muslims in Europe are reproducing so fast and European societies are so weak and listless that, before you know it, the continent will become "Eurabia," with all those topless gals on the Riviera wearing veils.

Well, maybe not.

The notion that continental Europeans, who are world-champion haters, will let the impoverished Muslim immigrants they confine to ghettos take over their societies and extend the caliphate from the Amalfi Coast to Amsterdam has it exactly wrong...

Oh, if it were true. I think political correctness has neutralized Europe. Has Europe ever been so Liberal and Fluffy in its long history?

If this "Euros ousting mohammedans" scenario ever plays itself out I hope at least one part of it does not come to fruition. U.S. ships off the coasts of Europe aiding the mass exodus of mohammedans.

Where would our ships take them? What country would accept them? You know their Arab/mohammedist homelands will not take them. Just don't bring a single one to the Good Ole U.S.A.

I am American...I look at the fact that I was born in Europe strictly from a geographic point of view and not nationality or loyalty. Hence my "PS"...

That's what I was thinking at first too. But then something occurred to me...Europeans go through a generational cycle. Remember that the vast majority of the armed extremist groups of Weimar Germany were too young to go the trenches twenty years earlier.

It's only going to take a few generations of difficulty for the Europeans to realize that their decadence is destroying them and I don't think the muslims are reproducing that fast.

My point is that an army of National Front types still exists in most countries in Europe and need only political sanction to start making life for the muzzies very uncomfortable... or that the police turn a blind eye.

"half of all births in France are already to Muslim parents."

Where did you get this? The population of France is about 60 million, with an estimated 5 million of Muslim background. With a national birthrate of about .12, and assuming that half of Muslim population is female (which is high), for half of all births to be to Muslim parents, half of all Muslim women would give birth every year. Does not compute.

At any rate, the French census does not record ethnicity or religion.

I think you might have a point there. IF the Europeans will fully wake up to the danger they are in, even after factoring in their declining birthrates - they can beat the enemy with technology and sheer brute force. If they go at it like Orkin - they can exterminate the roaches - but they will need to drive a stake through the heart of political correctness first to be able to do it.

Excellent poem. Let's hope it's not wishful thinking or whistling in the dark.

How long before il Duomo in Florence is converted into a mosque? Or Notre Dame? Either we'll see bloody civil strife in Europe in the near future, or Europe will become muslim with a whimper, due to overwhelming population/demographic changes. Some will willingly convert, and those that can get out will have already gotten out.

Peters - and I have read several of his books - seems to have gone over to muslim loving recently, starting with a piece in the Post a month or so ago, extolling moderate islam. Of course we are still waiting for those voices of moderate islam to speak out against terrorism and such.

"Again false... And contrarily to what is always posted here, France is the country that has the least accomodated the muslims....It has always been against multiculturalism..."

Oh, you mean like how the cracked down so hard on the "youths" that were burning cars and rioting in the streets?

A remnant of the old Paris will still remain: it will produce the most stylish Burkhas, Jilbabs, etc.

I'm just back home from five weeks in Poland (Poland is Europe too; indeed it's in the heart of Europe.) There is no Moslem influx into Poland. If there were, they would encounter a country that still values its historical heritage and is still committed to Christianity (if you doubt this, try being there on Easter or All Saints Day.)

France and Britain - especially France - are different cases and may end up defining Eurabia.

To understand present day demographics in Europe (and France in particular) you must look at both age distribution, and the age when births occur. Simply looking at population percentages alone will not get you anywhere close.

The Muslim population of France is much, much younger than the ethnic French, and the age at which Muslim women have children is much younger. Hence there are many more Muslim women giving birth than their percent of the population would indicate.

The result is not just that a disproportionate number of all young people in France are Muslim, but that 50% of all births in France are to Muslim parents. Although this is a relatively new phenomenon, one early result is that 25% of the enlisted troops in the French armed forces are now Muslim.

Source? The French government has refused to allow collection of census data based on religion. Hence there are no "official" sources (can you say, "DENIAL"?).

The Catholic Church has stepped into the gap, and their numbers are considered the most reliable in France. Based on the Catholic Church's estimates (including the Catholic estimate of the current Muslim population), a birth rate of 1.3/woman among the ethnic French is all that is needed for 50% of all births in France to be Muslim. This is well within the present day norm for "old" Europe.

Peter's point is that Europeans are really not receptive to outsiders but Americans are. So, in the end Muslims will have sown the seeds of their own destruction in Europe. If his thesis is correct, Americans have more to fear from Islamification than Europeans. He never makes this point.

I agree. It was an embarrassing performance filled with historical cliches. His knowledge of Islam and Europe seems to be largely confined to the sort of thing one finds in works by Gramscian academics.
