Chris Rock Alert? Jesse Jackson Will Fight To 'Prohibit' Public Use of N-Word
Today Show/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/25/2006 5:29:29 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Anyone who tunes into late-night comedy shows knows that black comedians utter the n-word with rapid-fire frequency. Perhaps Michael Richards mistakenly thought that what was sauce for the goose was sauce for the white gander. In any case, in a Today show appearance this morning, Jesse Jackson declared that he would be working to "prohibit" the use of the word. He didn't offer specifics, but one question naturally arises. Would Jackson's n-word ban begin where the word is most frequently in use - the black community itself?

Interviewed by weekend host Lester Holt [one of my MSM favorites for his level-headedness, I might add] on the Michael Richards mess, Jackson floated his proposal in these terms:

"I might add that we're really going to begin to fight to prohibit that word in public usage as hate language."

See video here.

The word is vile. But just wondering on which version of the First Amendment Jackson relies in his quest to ban offensive language? And will he indeed take his fight to Def Comedy Jam?

What about blacks TO blacks? Does that count, too?

"I might add that we're really going to begin to fight to prohibit that word in public usage as hate language." Black folk could still fling the word around because they aren't using it as "hate" speech don'tcha see?

Actually this is much worse than outright prohibiting the word. He wants (presumable with state power ) to control what people think.

It's power tripping ... "We can use the N-word but if you do you're an evil racist."

Jackson is too late.

Chappelle Alert? Jesse Jackson Will Fight To 'Prohibit'

Maybe he should fight to stop adultery instead...

The only people I hear using the N word are blacks. The kids mostly.

Has Jesse Jackass been on an NYC subway recently? I must hear the word a hundred times in a row when a group of African Americans get on the train and start talking.

Controlling what people think and say is the ultimate goal of 'liberals'. A government controlled by 'liberals' in any nation eventually turns into a tyranny.

For the record, some Googling reveals that Chappelle has apparently renounced the use of the n-word. I've asked the admin mod to substitute Chris Rock in the headline.

That's okay, they can just use "MF" instead. After all, that isn't hate speech. /s

As long as they don't ban "@sshole" we'll still be able to adequately describe Jesse.
