I always took it to be derived from Negro, which is pronounced "Nee-gro".It's about the same way the Japenese take offense to the word "Jap".
I will not take the Lords name in vain, but that's where it ends for me. Well, I also wouldn't yell fire in a crowded theater. Heck, I wouldn't yell fire, even if it was on fire, if I could only be sure that it was full of dims.
The N-word is not part of my daily language, it never has been. While I don't think I am racist, I refuse to abide by any such foolish laws. I don't refer to Blacks as African Americans either...that's just more P/C crap. I call them Black, just as I am fine with them calling me White. Those that want Government controlled speech can kiss my Red, White and Blue.
I will continue to refer to the dims and MSM as Traitors and Cowardice Enemies to this Country. I will continue to say the Pledge of Allegiance using "under God"....I fought and damn near gave my life for that privilege and nobody is going to take it away from me. Although I try to be a gentleman, I will never give up my right to free speech or any other Constitutional right. I will always say what I want, how I want and to whom I want. Those that want Government Controlled Speech can kiss my Red, White and Blue.
If anyone deserves the N-word, it is the real racists pigs such as Jackson. Tons of money and his "hate the white man racist" attitude continues to infect society, pull our races apart, and prove that a "monkey in a silk suit.....is still a monkey". In the old days the Black folks where horribly mistreated, murdered and treated with less respect than we give an ugly spider that happen onto our potato salad at a picnic, but that was then and this is now. If you want racism, just keep tossing it in our faces and you are damn sure going to get it.
Now, when are these Black "leaders" (as they like to be called) going to get off of their collective butts and actually get there kids off drugs, get them jobs, teach them what consequences and responsibility is, keep them out of prison, get them through school and for Gods sake....get them out of the "we have been held down by the white man" pity party they're in. White folks and other races need to deal with many of the same issues, but in my view, the Blacks have a chance right now and the likes of Jackson and their own pity party is ruining it for them.
Yes I am a white guy (Black feet and Scottish). I was the oldest of six kids of a dirt poor family. None of use sold drugs, my sisters where not hookers and we didn't call mom a bitch. Guess what...we made it up and out of the world of poor. The Blacks that want to make it do... those that want a free ride, get to live in the slime..... and making the N-word a hate crime isn't going to change ANY of that.
"How about banning the racist slur "Uncle Tom"?"
"Oreo cookies" should be outlawed.....
Fried chicken. water melon, grape juice, blonds.......the list goes on. It's all so ridiculous.
Uh oh! "Uncle Jesse" just lost 98% of the rapper vote.
Feel free to correct the spelling as you go...I missed a couple. There=their.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
This is a good point, and one that won't be touched on by the media. If this is what black leaders have been reduced to, then maybe racism isn't the big bad problem that they'd like us to believe it is, or maybe they have forgotten what racism really is.
The funny thing is, if Michael Richards had just stepped off the stage and punched each of those hecklers in the teeth, that would be considered less hurtful than saying those "hurtful, insensitive words" onstage. What a joke. I think blacks would be better off in a more honest society, as opposed to one where they just have to assume that all whites are racist.
In the article:
>> The word is vile.
The word is a noun and has different and subjective meaning depending on who's using it and the context it's being mentioned. It seems to be the case, however, the use of the word paralyzes most people through either one of the two poisons of racism or political correctness.
Jackson is not raving mad, but setting the stage for greater abuses to come
With a simple majority in both houses, this could be passed.
Would any president be brave enough to veto this?
Would lawyers be "punished" for challenging this in court?
This could be the stepping stone used to nulify much of the constitution. This could open the door to real tyrany.
Imagine in 2008, a DemocRAT president, and the making PC speech guidelines enforceable by law.
Will he be fighting to outlaw "jigaboo" as well?

And today, the suffering is perpetuated through Liberalism.
Funna = preparing to perform something or travel somewhere.
Usage: "I'm funna get dressed.", meaning, "I'm going to go get dressed."
MF, ho and bitch.
It's sad to see so many Freepers making light of this. We're talking about a First Amendment issue here. It's very serious. This is nothing to snigger at.
But very little of those funds will find their way to such programs. Jesse Jackson has always been quite niggardly in that respect.
For a moment I thought the word meant was "Limey". Been called it myself. The British Navy knew the scourge of seamen was scurvy. They found out that putting limes in the barrels of water kept it fresh. Thus ending scurvy. Smart devils, says I.
Getting back to the chase, I congratulate all Freepers who have used George Orwell's 1984 and its terminology. Curtis Sliwa, subbed for Sean Hannity Friday. Curtis said that the "Rehhfrend Ja-hacksun" (Limbaugh pronunciation) wants the utter humiliation of Richards. He wants (says Sliwa) to put the whole thing of sensitivity training on Mass Media.
Someone has got to get to the Reverend. Ever since sweet Cindy got him from the back, he has never laughed.
