MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A group of zombies have risen up to claim the city of Minneapolis and Hennepin County violated their free rights and discriminated against them.
The six adults and one juvenile who were arrested while impersonating the undead in July filed their lawsuit Thursday.
The ragged group were arrested for "simulating weapons of mass destruction" during a dance party near the Minneapolis entertainment district.
Police alleged that wires protruding from the zombie's backpacks could have been bombs or were meant to imitate bombs. It was later learned the wires were actually radios.
The adult zombies were jailed for two days before police and city attorneys said there was not enough evidence to charge them.
The lawsuit claims the zombie event was intended to "satirize contemporary commercial culture" and the arrests violated the partygoers rights to free speech.
City officials did not return a call to the St. Paul Pioneer Press seeking comment on Wednesday. City offices were closed on Thanksgivi

If that's a crime, then it must be really hard to get past this law when going after the democrat vote in that town.
Note to ACORN.....
Ya gotta WORK for that Zombie Vote in Minneapolis and Hennepin County.

Hey, we just elected a Farrahkan devotee, antisemitic, racist to the US Congress from the Minnesota 5th District...in a rout. It's obvious we have more zombies per capita voting in my neighborhood that just about anywhere else in the country. It really helps living here if you are a zombie.

The adult zombies were jailed for two days before police and city attorneys said there was not enough evidence to charge them. If they weren't charged, what were they doing in jail?
Sometimes I just don't understand our criminal justice system.

They can't be looking for brains. They'd never find them in the City Government.

"The adult zombies were jailed for two days before police and city attorneys said there was not enough evidence to charge them." A great moment in journalism.
Actually they should have been arrested for doing bad impressions of zombies. Then they would have had enough evidence.

The adult zombies were jailed for two days before police and city attorneys said there was not enough evidence to charge them. I thought 24 hours was the limit of detention before the civil courts and police had to charge or release someone?

Zombies are a special case.
Much like having 17th level anti-paladins wandering around.

That's what comes from the lack of imagination and general state of ignorance among the LE personnel. Instead of immediately shooting the perps with silver bullets, driving wooden [ash is the best] stakes through them, or at least liberally dousing them with garlic concoction [old Chinese sources strongly recommend adding stale urine to it] - so, what did the police do? - they arrested them, and now have a lawsuit on their hands.
