My God, look at all these wusses would you? Cowards, nay-sayers, defeatists all, they're pathetic. I believe that it's time for real Americans to start kicking some A**. Kerry first, Kennedy, Durban, Rangel, Dingy Harry, the list is long, the effort pleasurable.

As far as Iraq itself, a level of stability conducive to sustainable self-governance, by a government that does not pose a threat to our interests. The idealistic talk about freedom and democracy appears to be going down the tubes. As far as the region, there are other, compelling reasons to maintain a military presence.

"concur and apologize"

One of the few times that McVain is owed an apology.

On the other hand, my sense of derision toward the MSM over their obvious bias is heightened.

I think they are sitting in their Liars Lairs, laughing and saying amongst themselves, "Let's really get in their face with our bias!"

Seriously.

I expect the following someday soon:

Bush: I want to... kill and eat...children. I hate...America's toddlers.

And when you got into the article, you'd see this:

Said President Bush, "America's hunters must be allowed to donate venison to the hungry. I want to see wasted venison used for the needy. Most hunters kill and eat their prey, often feeding their children. But for those that don't, I hate seeing that good meat go to waste, when it can feed America's toddlers."

It is more than likely that Bloomberg has fabricated their story.

Not sure how I feel about McCain exactly, just thought it might be fun to reintroduce this into the conversation.

The conservative right needs to do two things for the 2008 elections: Win back congress, and win the presidency. When choosing the presidential candidate, the conservatives need to evaluate the positions of the candidates, and determine if, OVERALL, the positions are in tune with their own values. Throwing someone under a bus for one issue, is not a successful strategy. THEN, that candidate needs to pledge to support the basic platform issues, and not forget about them after being elected.

Retaking congress. This is extremely important because of the ability to approve judges, power of the purse, and ability to wage war. A huge loss of opportunity occured when the dems took congress. Who was driving the thing? Mehlman? Puhleez. Everyone got bottled up on Iraq and groping pages, and individual corruption. Therefore going forth, candidates must be above reproach, and a coherent policy on Iraq needs to be articulated. And this was where the failure lies.

I'm no fan of McCain but when quotes are chopped up this fine, I don't pay it any attention. If a "journalist" has to pick and choose thir quote-bits like that, they are likely being dishonest.
---

I 100% agree! Chopped up quotes are what journalists do to muddle what they really said. Just like how it was blasted that Blair said "Iraq was a disaster!"

Once you search the net and find the full transcript the entire dialog is 100% different.

I agree with you there.
The GOP is going to have to embark on a serious gut-check + "grow a pair" session before it can make any claim to conservatives again.

Propping up Mr.-"I don't care if he raped her and shot her dead, I'll never vote for impeachment"-Trent Lott .. ain't makin' it.

"That bit makes the Administration sound more and more inept at their handling of Iraq."

I think the swing voters went in that direction, two weeks ago.

"Stay the course" was looking more and more like "we don't have a better plan at this time."

I wonder what Murtha was thinking?

He wasn't thinking, he was reacting, basically voting Rangel's proxie.

It would be interesting to know how many times Murtha has done Rangel's bidding.

Yes, I have to collect his votes. More immediately, though we need to get the schedule for the 2007 appropriations. We need to see what Murtha is earmarking this time.

I believe in the Bible it says "Judas went out and hung himself" another verse in the Bible says "go and do likewise"...they should not be applied together.

Couldn't we make an exception for Rangel and McCain?

McCain ?

He's supposed to be dead already. Or did he flip flop on his vow to commit suicide if the Dems won the legislature.
