Isn't this the kind of routine we are SUPPOSED to lionize Lenny Bruce for?

I was just goung to post the exact same thing before I scanned the thread. I haven't listened to much of Bruce's stuff (saw the Hoffman movie) but it seems to me he was hailed as a "comic genius" for routines just like this one.

He wouldn't tell a white heckler--"Hey stupid white guy, shut up. White, white, white, white!! Stupid M'fin'g White guy." Why does he treat a black heckler that way? It's because he sees the person's race as the most important thing, and his response implies that a black heckler is more nettlesome, less acceptable than a white one would be.

He would n't say that to a white guy because the white guy would just look at him and wonder when he's going to say something funny. Calling a white guy a Cracker produces a "Yeah? So? What's your point?" reaction

He used the n-word precisely because he knew it would create a reaction

If the hecklers used an epithet first, it does not justify Michael Richards getting into the gutter with them. In the clip that is on that site, they DO use the terms cracker and f****in white boy. THAT is bigotry on parade and I want to know if it is the first time THEY ever used those terms.

At the press conference on CNN, some black participants from the community said that Jews at major corporations traffic in goods with the N word.

There is a LOT of racism still at large in LA.

Michael Savage has spent the whole hour covering this.

But some want to call Michael Richards a bigot and wash their hands of the whole matter.

Michael Richards can be heard in the video saying "Ohhh" and "you're shocked!" you're shocked!"
