We were discussing something similar the other evening on the dose regarding Wyoming.

One of the posters who lives there was evidencing surprise that one race was so close that the pubbies only won by about 1000 votes.

I suggested that this was because of the newcomers I watched a news item on CBS a couple of weeks ago showing how many blue collar skilled workers are going to Wyoming because of the available work. So many that the housing developments cannot keep pace with them and they are having to live in temporary accommodation until the houses are built.

After thought the poster agreed that this indeed was a factor that these newcomers are dems and in areas that are sparsely populated this will have a dramatic affect on the vote.

How the GOP/RNC counteract this I am not sure apart from trying something that these newcomers will be attracted to maybe some help re housing etc.

Exactly, it's amazing the blockage of new sources of oil that the rats will do.

Oil is 'dirty energy'! Don't you realize we have an inexhaustible supply of human fetuses... enough to make us energy independent into the next millennium.

These guys fight an asymmetrical war(setting bombs and then running, shooting sniper style and then hiding etc.) and are tough to deal with.
No wonder the chickenshots of Nato want the easy tours of duty in Afghanistan.
The strata sphere has a great piece on how soldiers from some nato countries will only guard the easy places that seldom see any action in Afghanistan. It's here entitled the whimps of Nato:

http://strata-sphere.com/blog/

Also some good stuff on how we managed to "snatch defeat out of the jaws" of victory using the unelected Gliterati(media talking /writing head)during the last election. It's a great piece worth looking at.

Washington Post had trashed George Allen way before the Macacca nonsense

Yes, but don't you think some of the blame goes to George Allen?
He defeated himself in many ways.

Agreed, but back to one of my old themes. Let's not extend their power by ever, ever, refering to them as "mainstream". They are old media, or drive-by, but not mainstream.

I'd also add all the alphabet morning programs, and news magazines to the cable news, network news, Imus, the Daily Show, the View. All combined, it's still pervasive. Sad to say, but true. Turn 'em off.

Steney Hoyer (sp?): "We're not going to defund the troops in the field. BTW, I never knew we had so many military experts in congress.

LOL. Steffie puts up a picture of Jane Harman that makes her look like a candidate for the looney bin and one of Hastings that makes him look like a statesman.

In Britain I cannot get his show but we do get CBS I wonder if we add to the ratings? Though I suppose because we get it via satellite probably not.

I usually watch CBS news ignore the actual news but somethings their human interest bits are informative to me and gives me a better idea of day to day life in the States. Also they do occasionally have stories about a military person returning to the US and things they are doing or have done including some interesting bits on their medical care.

It is happening all over the country.

Illegal immigration is the Dem's Achilles heel. They may succeed in passing comprehensive immigration reform, but now it will bear a Dem Congress signature and unfortunately, a WH seal of approval.

We all know that comprehensive immigration reform will result in more of the same, i.e., no real enforcement, no control over our borders, and more illegal immigrants. The support provided by black leaders and union bosses does not represent the true feelings of their constituencies. It will boil down to to who do you believe, the politicians or your lying eyes?

Communities around the country are taking matters into their own hands. They have to live with the real consequences and costs of illegal immigration in the form of crime, overburdened schools and social systems, closing ERs, and inadequate infrastructure. The Reps must oppose comprehensive immigration reform and avoid any association with it. The failure of the Dems' policy will be self-evident, especially if we have an economic downturn.

Immigration by the numbers

Trouble is the media doesn't want to pump up Pelosi too much. She makes hitlery look bad. On the other hand it's not great to be bashing her too much either.

We'll see what the san francisco treat does with ole alcee hastings.
