Thank you for giving us blanket amnesty for illegals.
Thank you for courageously abandoning our troops.
Thank you for handing victory to the terrorists.
Thank you for guaranteeing higher taxes.
Thank you for guaranteeing no more conservative judges.
Thank you for empowering John McCain.
Thank you for bringing back universal health care.
Thank you for endless investigations.
Most of all, I want to thank you for showing complete disregard for the tens of thousands who spilled their blood to give you your right to vote.
Your callous, self-serving apathy has guaranteed the government actions that you so bitterly complained about.
A final reality check to all you non-voters who still call your self conservative:
You are not a conservative.
You define un-American.
You define un-patriotic.
Please stop pretending to care about the troops.
To all you people who actually voted.
Thank you for defending our Constitution.
I fully understand your frustration, believe me, but can we please put threads on this subect to bed? There is absolutely no way we can change what happened 11 days ago, but what we can do is work toward the goal of getting a conservative elected to the WH in 2008, and a conservative majority in congress. Dialogue of this type accomplishes nothing.
Don't blame them? Just why not? They made a choice - to not support the conservative agenda, to not vote and therefore they get what the election produced.
Of course the GOP let us down, the senators let us down, the representatives. The GOP is right now surrendering to the democrats merely because they "want" ........ Seems to me nobody surrendered an inch to us even though we had the whole works.
I am disgusted with them but I am not crazy. The only way to get a conservative in power is to find one and get him elected. The complainers do not bother to do that.
*OPI pings!
(* = Of possible interest?)
In 2004, I actually did that. I invited a bunch of my friends to my house for an election night party. We had pizza, snacks, soda etc. I only let them in if they had one of those "I voted" stickers on them.
Then we flipped channels between FOX, CNN and one of the local channels getting election returns all evening.
I didn't know at the time I invited people to the party that one of my friends was a closet Democrat. Let's say she wasn't too happy that GWB got re-elected but she couldn't really say so too loudly in a room full of conservatives, including her own hubby.
Although I am way late to the thread - well said.
Good going! I think I will have one of those parties in 08. Maybe get them to bring some friends who voted Republican.
The Dem's ads, and the endless attacks in the Democrat Media, also featured nasty quotes from RINO legislative leaders who couldn't control their mouths or their tempers.
Fortunately, our guy knew how to fight back and fight for what he believes in, and will be sworn in as a Congressman come January. :-)
bttt
At least we conservative voters might have a silver lining to look forward to after this election. It is not even January yet and the Dims are already so drunk with power and crooked politics that they are likely to create a major momentum swing back our way in '08. Keep the faith! Let the Dims seal their own fate.
We're incrementing our way towards full-blown, cultureless socialism, under Democrat and GOP alike. Please tell me, was there ever a time in history when a civilization was able to increment itself back to its original principles? Never that I'm aware.
No, it is inevitable that old institutions crumble before they can be rebuilt after they reach a certain point. The noble United States of old is gone...it is dead and buried. Voting in a bunch of RINOs isn't going to change that. There is no pulling back from the brink.
So yes, you're welcome.
The GOP never had enough votes in the Senate to do anything meaningful(ANWR, Social Security, permanent tax cuts...). Now we get the opposite agenda without the votes to pass. Gridlock sucks
I thought the exit polls and such showed that it was the middle who stayed home or switched not the so-called GOP base?
You are welcome. :-)
Well there's some hope that the democrats will impeach George Bush and then maybe Dick Cheney will veto it. ;-)
Good post. I didn't vote the way you did but your assessment is correct.
But the way for Harriet Miers is clear now. We'll have a judge both Bush and Reid want. ;-)
Somebody's been hanging around DU too long. Gotta be careful, son - it'll rot your brain. Actually it's probably too late. Anybody using the "chimp" nickname for Bush is too far gone already. You might still be able to salvage a few brain cells if you back away slowly from that Molly Ivins column.
Thanks. Our senate race was a no winner. The worse choice since Al Gore Sr was a senator. That one I left blank just like I did with Frist six years ago. I knew Frist wasn't gonna do much because he refused to even try to get Hillary Care defunded in our state.
Damn well put Shempy. I thought the party was supposed to court the voters and not the other way around?
Regards
