Deja Vu-the KGB used the Bulgarians to kill a critic in England a few years back. The poison was in the tip of an umbrella, that was used to inject the poison into the defector whose name escapes me...

Murdering political opponents is a very old if not too accepted use of ruthless powers. Going back into the past it accounts for the deaths of various Roman Emperors and Renaissance princes, among many others.
It looks like Putin is not the democrat that many had hoped for, but he is a true alumnus of the KGB.

Didn't they try to poison someone a few years back? I remember him saying, "Take a look at my face!"

The body mistakes thallium for potassium, and permits it to pass into cells.
This guy is very lucky to be alive.

You can take the Pooty-Poot out of the KGB, but you can't take the KGB out of the Pooty-Poot.

This reminds me of all the scientists who were working on the SDI program that were reported to have died suspiciously during the 1980s.

It's the bitter taste of treason. He took an oath to his country and violated it. So he pays the penalty. Azzam the American will hopefully meet a similar fate. You never trust a sellout, even if he sells out to your own side.

I wouldn't trust Putin as far as I can throw him. Russia has taken some serious steps backwards under him.

Clinton's reign was marked by similar occurances. There used to be a list on the net with names of dozens of people who were opposed to the Clinton policies and who committed "suicide." If I remember correctly, one even cut his own head off and placed it in a separate garbage container than the one he left his body in.
We certainly live in interesting times.
