The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.
I agree--look at the source.
It would be good for Rove to leave though.
One less target in the administration.
I'm glad to see that at least ONE Freeper has learned how to read an article from the biased MSM.
Rove can't MAKE anyone go to the votong booth.
I predict he will not leave. He was with GW in Texas the whole time, and he will remain the whole tenure at the Whitehouse. GW is playing with the dems, he is not going to roll over. If GW does rol over for terrorists, he sure as hell is not going to roll over to Pelosi and Reid. It is no coincidence that the republican leadership in the house and senate said they will fight the donks all the way. So will GW.
I like Rove he has been good for this party,he helped win the whitehouse twice, and got us the majority in the house and senate. I don't blame him for the election this last time. Whoever gets him for the 2008 run is going to get a very smart man.
I'd like specific examples of 'partisan style' exhibited by ANYONE associated with this WH in the last 6 years, with the exception of Dick Cheney. Bush came to town with a 'New Tone' and consequently got mauled by the'Rats and the media for the last 6 years. Criminy...how much more do they expect Bush to bend over in the name of bi-partisianship!??
You just put in the best post of the day, for sure.
LOL.
Yep... a big, smelly pile of it!
LLS
A key Bush advisor tells
That guy never shuts up. Hes hardly ever right though.
I look at some of these posts and astounded that people who call themselves Freepers would even post them.
>>A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.<<
That may be the under-statement of the week.
Rove likely only took an official position because he and the President decided it would be be helpful strategically - and if he stops having an official position it will likely be because he and the President have decided it will be helpful strategically - his power is not in his title (unlike many others on Washington.)
Good....
Now send him down to the border to help build a fence.
I'm of the thinking this story is BS
Though if by chance it is true .. it isn't because of the Dems election
That may have been what you did, but he ran on being a "uniter, not a divider", and promoted how well he worked with democrats in Texas.
So it would be reasonable that the average voter elected Bush specifically because he COULD get along with Democrats.
And he certainly did that the first few months, before Jeffords stabbed him in the back and then 9/11 happened and he realised the democrats weren't ready to do what needed to be done.
I recall distinctly that there was talk of this, way before the election.
Rove is needed elsewhere to help recover from this election.
That was exactly what I was thinking. I've always kind of suspected that Bush Jr. was deep down a RINO like his dad but was bucked up by Rove and Cheney and Rummy.
With this news about Rove and the news about Poppy's men Scowcraft and Baker trying to take over, I am very very very very very worried that this White House is going surrender to Palosi and the Dumbocrats.
Whiney conservatives stayed home to punish the GOP, which was freakin stupid, independents fell for the MSM crap and turned to the donks and we went from 45% of the hispanic vote to 30% because of all the hardliners on immigration. That is why we lost. One man can not win elections, only voters can.
I did not start this rumor!
