Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

Good. I hate the reason cited... I didn't vote for President Bush to "get along" with the Democrats. No, I want to see Karl Rove go because I'm tired of all the political calculations. Get down to statesmanship at some point, please!

B.S.

He may leave, but it is because he wants to move on to do other things.

Rove MAY leave for the purpose of waging the 2008 campaign WITHOUT THE MEDIA OR DEMS (same thing) watching all his internal moves. Private citizen is a whole different ball of wax.

I thought they had a plan to handle two Supreme Court nominations, they didn't.

Oh sure they did, her name's Harriet Miers.

Bush isn't running for office, nor is he involved in an off-year election anymore, so Rove is free to work for actual candidates now.

So what W and Rove had been doing was partisan? I'm not looking forward to W's new policy of bipartisanship, AKA DoWhatTheDemsWantism.

He left his job at the White House to run this year's campaign. He said that we would lose no more than 9 seats.

What gives?

He needs to leave. Friggin hired gun loser, what did Bush say after the thumpin when someone asked where Rove was, "Obviously not helping the campaigning." or something like that. Yesterday's darling is today's goat.

just kidding...i think.

I hope its true. Rove has been a disaster.

He is 3-1 at the national level, beating the historical odds in 2000, 2002, and 2004. He also was successful in Texas, turning Texas from a Dem state to a GOP state. That may have been inevitable, but he accomplished it before similar Georgia did.

Clueless knee-jerking is not a virtue.

Basically they've been winging the whole Administration. It worked for a little bit in the First Term, but it's been pretty unsuccessful since about mid-2003.
