Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

Another bogus rumor more likely.

That's my initial reaction. How many times have we heard this from the left over the last 6 years? I've lost count.

I do believe the Bush Administration is going to back Rudy. I wish they would get behind Romney.

It doesn't merely break my heart, it makes me physically ill. Our troops are out there laying their asses on the line for this country and supposed freepers don't back them by supporting them at the polls. May these jack-a-napes rot.

Romney isn't electable. You have to go with the best you have that will get the most votes.

Not fearmongering, the cold hard truth. People jumped to their deaths because of Bill Clinton and the Democrats malfeasance.

Pretty basic reality.

Sure it's reality but to tell folks to vote R or else they'll die is getting to the bottom of the barrel for ideas.

It turns out Rove really liked all the John Kerry Plans that were never disclosed and that explained/fixed everything.

Speaking of plans, reminds me of all the plans that Kerry had in 2004---look at what happened to him.

Now the Demos are planning to accomplish what, just a plan?

They're all 'fair weather supporters' who cannot be relied on when a storm is approaching. They really showed their true colours in the last couple of months before the election and I for one will not forget.

What many don't seem to realize is in this day and age you'll win more with a 'little give and take' than stubbornly standing your ground for 100% which has proven time and time again is a sure way of losing.

The intellectual dishonesty of some of our own talk show hosts was absolutely mindboggling.

We have one talker who always insisted he was registered as a conservative. Then he said he was changing his registration from republican to independent. This week he said he was a libertarian.

That's what passes for principle.....heaven help us all.

The good of the country is secondary to ratings?

Rove helped Bush sneak in the backdoor as Prez in 2000 (barely), and the 2002 and 2004 wins were basically riding the wave of 9-11 patriotism. Once that was gone, Rove had nothing.

People endangered their lives when they voted (or didn't vote) to put Dems back in charge.

Can you deny that? Of course you can't. Protecting this nation should be the number one concern of anyone, conservative or otherwise.

I'm just pointing out the gross mistake that was made and the known consequences of such a mistake.

Apparently the GOP didn't convey your fear adequately enough to get folks to vote for their cause.

There's more to be said than just putting fear into folks as to why one party or the other deserves our vote.

Please ... if you can put George Bush in the same category with Carter .. I see little room for dialogue.

I wasn't being literal .... but figurative in my scope. We have ONE president, ONE leader, one main voice of the United States .. the President of the United States.

What I see is congress' attempt to supercede and infringe on the powers and authority of the president in time of vicious war and a determined mission to destroy US, which I pray is NOT allowed to happen.

No, they put the warnings out there. For crying out loud, they just foiled a plot to blow up TEN airliners. People forgot what was most important.

I understand that from sheeple, but not from conservatives, and certainly not Freepers.

If the GOP congessmen had all listened to conservative's criticisms and STOPPED the earmarks; fought the media more; stood up for conservative principles; exposed and expunged all the corruption; handled the Middle East better and fought for our side like Dems fight for THEIR side we wouldn't have lost the Congress.

You say conservatives should'nt have criticised the GOP, that we should have just been cheerleaders and maybe that would have kept the voters happy with their congressmen, but in my opinion, EVERYONE knew about the earmarks, the increased spending and the corruption, and conservatives screaming about it didn't take down the GOP any more than if we had kept quiet with our criticisms, in fact, if our criticisms had been heeded, the criticisms would have kept the Congess in GOP hands.

He recruited our supreme leader the un-Wunderkind GW. Rove's "permanent majority" and "compassionate conservative" crap has lead to a GOP implosion, run away spending, a lack of reforms... he's been a disaster.

Clearly he's not nearly as clever as he believed.

Precisely.

Why don't you link any post where I said anything close to that?

What I did say was:

Imagine how much it must suck to be the Freepers around here who have done nothing except trash Bush and the GOP for the last seven years.

Now if you're going to deny that the Patsies and the StormFront group and all the rest of the unappeasables around here haven't been relentlessly trashing Bush since 1999, I'm going to say you haven't been paying attention.
