Boehner accepts no pork. That's one thing I like about him.He was majority leader - he needed to also tell the various GOP Congresscritters that pork was off the menu.

Boehner promised tons of ethics and earmarks reform after taking over for Delay and then didn't do anything once people stopped paying attention. Although the ball's really in Nancy's court now, so it's not going to make a difference. He can fight for all the reform he wants as it will only hurt the 'Rats.

untrue , tis guy was warned in the fall and spring that they were in big trouble by frank luntz. luntz said on the l ingram that the rnc leadership did not want o hear the facts and were in fact hostile to it. those village idiots were just reelected for screwing up the last election. boehner comes off as slick repub country club type . the little guy can not relate to his winter tan and 2000 suits .
this is a disaster .

People dedicated to serving the American People via American principles (conservatives) are again reminded that we must use the GOP and avoid being used by it.
Organize and win Primary Elections
Defeat RINO's.

I don't think he was majority leader through a budget cycle.

Yes, I've heard Boehner doesn't accept pork.
He didn't have much of a chance yet after taking over after the Delay fallout.
I think he will be very good.

Most people barely know who the speaker is. We are more distraught then most because we are political junkies. There won't be a bunch of people saying, damn I really wanted Pence to win, I am staying home in 2008. 90% of Americans won't have any idea who Pence, Shadegg, Boehner, Blunt are to be honest. Now that is the truth. But I just don't get it, saying Boehner's leadership is the cause of the current mess is just like saying bush caused the world trade attack. Boehner only had delays job since the summer when the ethically challenged congressman resigned. And Pence with his bush lite amnesty bill didn't deserve any support.

They just don't get it.The stupid party strikes again.
They passed up some very good conservative candidates and chose the old school "Can't we all just cave to democrats to get along?" dumbassess.
They actually think they lost the majority because of George Bush! My gawd, the idiots can't see their hands in front of their faces.
How many times to these guys have to lose to figure it out? Conservativeness always wins with the voters. Even the ignorant democrats have finally figured that one out.

There was no shortage of earmarks to shoot down during his tenure as majority leader.

I love Garrison; he's the best talk radio show host over th whole USA =-IMO hands down (not just because he was Pence's show host partner on 1010AM.)/

We knew we didn't have overwhelming force to go into Iraq with, but we chose to go into Iraq at that time anyway. So, the borders weren't secured and weapons caches weren't protected and we have the mess we have today.

It's a setback not a disaster. I'm very unhappy with the decision but we can still exert pressure on the GOP and Boehner. Boehner better get the hint and start kicking butt in the House.
Stop blowing things out of proportion, it's not helpful.

If we don't start attending county central committe meetings to pick Party representatives and change the nominating process, this isn't going to change.
FR was initiated to foster conservatism. It's high time we used it that way instead of just reading the news and bitching. The Liberty Institute has wonderful course materials that perhaps could be posted here on how to take over county central committees and push through better candidates. I'd bet Morton Blackwell would be happy to help.
I think it was Scoop Nisker, a leftist news jock for underground radio that once said,
"If you don't like the news, go out and make some of your own."

But what Rumsfield was referring to was equipment, not the startegy. We are never equipped like we would want after the fighting starts. Fact is you are never quite sure how you need to be equipped until then.

If this election symbolizes, and I think it does, Republican denial of of their loss than it will come back to bite them, even among people who have no idea who Mike Pence is.
Not because of this event, but in the sense of what is to come. This was just a symptom of a greater disease.
