It's clear that across the board, FR is considered to be a gauge of how Conservatives/GOPers are thinking and responding to events. From the Dixie Chicks, to Daily Variety, to FoxNews, plus of course the various anti-FR nutters, this forum garners attention. While by no means monolithic in thought, FR in general reflects the mainstream of the right. At the least one can observe the arguments pro and con on issues of importance from a Conservative POV here.

Yes, proving once again that the debate and ideas are on the Right.

The Left is dead.

Except for the MSM/Hollywood/Academia who keep that ideology on life support, as if any of their ideas, theories, and actions have ever worked.

The left has monopoly on all propaganda, culture and political.

Well Fred and Charles were sure trying to talk him up as the next best thing to sliced bread.

Not surprising that Charles would like him -- Hawkish on foreign policy but weak on social issues -- they're a good match.

But shame on Fred, he should know better!

BRIT RULES!!!

Yes, proving once again that the debate and ideas are on the Right.

One can figure that out just by lurking at DU or Huffington Post. The threads are jammed with profanity, spam, and Bush-hating nuttery. Nothing of substance or value. I'll say this for the odious twit Kos, he manages on his front page anyway, to keep it issue-oriented. I rarely read the threads there though.

And the fact is that the Dems won by running (their version of) moderates, parading as fiscal Conservatives. They can only win by pretending to be us.

McCain does not have the personal fortune Perot had, and I don't think the big donors will bankroll him to make up the difference.

I agree..but if you referring to my Perot Redux 08 comment, I use that simply to illustrate that the strategy of The Beast is to recreate the same scenario that took the Republicans down in 1992 & 1996.

Split or drain the pubbie vote, however you can, and roll into the white house with 45%..or so.

She knows she'll never win in a heads up fight.

What makes you think the big donors won't bankroll him?

I would think he will be their primary beneficiary

Yeah, but I did not like what they said about the "Poll" not being scientific. Britt said, one could vote as many times as one could? IS THAT TRUE?

I thought computers could tell votes coming from the same computer by now, or not?

Now of course, one could vote from two or tree different computers... but that would not be same as voting 10 times from the same computer. Does anyone know about this?

You Donner Party Conservatives are all alike. You'll sell this nation to the Democrats just because a candidate isn't perfect in your eyes.

Give me a break. There's "non-perfect" and then there's John McCain. This broken glass Republican (having NEVER cast a democrat vote in a lot of elections) and Republican party official has serious doubts about McCain's mental-stability and suitability to be holding the nuclear codes.

Were he just a back-stabbing, say-anything-to-get-elected media-whore, I would hold my nose and vote for him. Whoever the dems put up will be no better in that regard. Heck, I would hold my nose and vote for Linclon Chafee over HRC.

But the ability to make good decisions under pressure is a key component in the presidency. McCain may be genuinely dangerous in that regard. He would have to do a lot of convincing me on the mental stability issue before he gets my vote in the general election.

I think most people would hold their nose and vote for McPain if it came down to him and Hillary.

Sorry to burst your bubble but we have decided to not vote if McCain or Rudy are the GOP choice. Do not like either one and would never vote DeMARXocrat.

Thanks, John. So you're polls are quite accurate -- unless a group from the DUmpster expends lots of time & energy to try to skew the results, which is not too likely to happen even for them.

Brit's panel think McCain can mend fences and become the nominee in 08. They all seemed in favor of it.

Not this fence. I'd vote 3rd party for the first time if McCain is the nominee. I waaaay prefer Rudy -- at least you know what you're getting with Rudy and a LOT of it is good. You never know which McCain is gonna show up.

I would too. I'd low crawl naked over 2 miles of broken glass to cast a vote against the Beast.

But Britt reported that FreeRepublic Polls are not limited to one vote per person implying that one person could vote unlimited times. I did not believe this was possible on a FreeRepublic Poll. I know I am only able to vote once in each poll. So, what gives?

said it was non scientific

That's probably because it is not a statistical sample but a poll of everybody who is actively posting.

I was very impressed when I saw it. Thank you for posting this. IIRC, it was 6000+ votes about 90 - 9%.
