"I'm not holding out much hope for that now."What in God's name were they thinking?!? Is the plan to just go ahead and finish themselves off after the election? We need real fighters in the senate leadership, now more than ever before. They went out and got a guy who is the opposite of that for the #2 spot!

McConnell and Lott? There's something seriously wrong with the senate. It's not that I dislike either of them, I just don't think they should be in charge. Why not Sessions/DeMint?

Trouble is Trent only bangs republican heads - he has an overpowering need to curry favor from his democrat "buddies".
Don't expect that to change.

Retire mentally from politics to spend more time with the family and church and our private lives? No Shiite. It seems no matter how hard we try, all that changes is the size of the DC pig stye. As in larger with each passing year.

Let me be the contrarian who thinks this is GREAT. Trent Lott was a great Whip in the House and the Senate.
I hope you're right. What we need is a master tactician, and if Lott can do that, then he'll do what he's been elected for. No doubt there are politicians who are better conservatives and don't have an image problem, but being a Whip doesn't mean you have to be pretty. Look at what the 'RATs are doing with Murtha.

Shaking head....in utter disbelief..
Apparently they are incapable of grasping what their recent loss of power was communicating to them...
Where do we go?
