Depends what you are buying. Circuit City of Comp USA for electronics (TVs, etc.) and computer products, Sears or local appliance chains for appliances. There's lots of options.
Especially when it comes to those "extended service contracts." For instance, a friend bought a laptop, and bought the extended service plan from Best Buy. When I saw what she did, I had her take it back the next day and get a refund (on the plan... She got a very good deal on the HP Laptop.) For just a little bit more, she was able to get an HP 3 year extended service plan, including accidental damage!
If you read the contract carefully, you'll see that their plan only kicks in AFTER the original manufacturers warranty expires, and then THEY do the repairs, not necessarily a manufacturer authorized repair center.

Walmart tried that last year, they are back to "Merry Christmas" this year.
If this is generic "holiday season" then why are they closed only on December 25th? Why do they urge people to shop by counting down to December 25th?
Gee, don't their open marketing actions - aside from words intended to piously bestow moral relativism on a minor Jewish obervance not to mention Kwanzaa - by assuming people are offend by mention Of "Christmas" - doesnt this belittle Kwanzaa and Eid and Hanukkah and the pagan gods of fir trees when the stores stay open on "their"
days?
Think about it?
FYI, Best Buy has a really consumer UNfriendly attitude about Christmas returns ( you should pardon the expression).
They will not accept returns, even with receipt, if they were purchased with a credit card. You have to take a store credit.
This happened to my daughter last year.
By the way, what is up with this Eid holiday? This is the first year I've been hearing about it.
well then no $$ from me
Fry's Electronics, if you have one in your area, is vastly superior in selection and price to Best Buy. I buy electronics at Fry's Electronics, Costco, or Online. I almost never shop at BB.
I don't know how the Best Buys in our area stay in business. When you go in there, there are literally often more employees than customers. Frys Electronics is killing them.
It has come to my attention that Best Buy will not be using the term "Christmas" to describe that festival of family gatherings, gift-giving, and religious expression that culminate each year on December 25th.
If this information is incorrect, I'd like to hear it.
In the meantime, I'd like to let you know that I will be doing my Christmas Shopping only at those businesses which acknowledge, by name, the holiday that so often rescues their bottom lines from otherwise lackluster years.
In fact, I intend to return to Best Buy on the day I see a large "Merry Christmas!" banner strung across the facade, and not one day sooner.
Thank you.
Hope the individual actually reads it. Probably won't.
Just as I have for the last several years, I will be boycotting any store that bans all mention of Christmas.
I shan't whine. Neither shall I go there.
" The Eid stamp commemorates the two most important festivalsor eidsin the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. On these days, Muslims wish each other "Eid mubarak," the phrase featured in Islamic calligraphy on the stamp
Amen! And forever unless/until they repent. I am no longer a best buyer.
P.S. Spread the word!
I don't. She, but especially Best Buy, deserves every bit of the avalanche of criticism they are going to receive.
We don't have a Fry's in this God forsaken area so I will check out Fry online. Costco is out because the owner is a big time left wing contributor.

Thanks
I don't feel sorry for her, or Best Buy either. They chose to ADVERTISE their decision in hopes of pleasing those 15-20 people who are actually offended when they see/hear/read "Merry Christmas!".
Yes - thanks. I don't want a dime going to left wing companies..that's all.
If they want to advertise Christmas fine, if they don't, fine, too. MY Christmas won't be spoiled either way.
