Karpinski to be witness for presecution in German prosecution of Rumsfeld

Just days after his resignation, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is about to face more repercussions for his involvement in the troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germany’s top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba...

... Lawyers for the plaintiffs say that one of the witnesses who will testify on their behalf is former Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, the one-time commander of all U.S. military prisons in Iraq. Karpinski — who the lawyers say will be in Germany next week to publicly address her accusations in the case — has issued a written statement to accompany the legal filing, which says, in part: “It was clear the knowledge and responsibility [for what happened at Abu Ghraib] goes all the way to the top of the chain of command to the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld ...”

Recall her to temporary active duty, courts martial her ass, and send her to freaking Leavenworth.

A speedy trip to Leavenworth would put a stop to her antics. We should have kicked her in there right off the bat.

The thought of ex Nazis bringing charges against our leaders is a sick joke, 9/11 was masterminded in Hamburg Germany, I wouldn't doubt if they got help from German intelligence to help pull it off. Anyone who thinks Germans got over WWII is living in a dream world.

No, it´s not the German prosecutor bringing this up again. A decisive misunderstanding, let me tell you.

And the fact that Rumsfeld is no longer in office doesn´t chamge the outcome. Because of the filed lawsuit in 2004 I wrote a petition to the parliament to change the law - they answered that there´s no need and pointed me to section 153f of the Criminal Procedure Code, which allows the prosecutors to drop the lawsuit for instance in the case of Rumsfeld.

Germany doesn´t charge Rumsfeld, this is just a report to the prosecutors by AMERICAN LEFTISTS! And German intelligence is cooperating very well with their US counterparts. After all - in case you haven´t noticed - Germany and America are friends and allies, even on the top level since Angela Merkel is Chancellor.

Civic group to file suit against Rumsfeld

WASHINGTON: An association of lawyers defending detainees held at the US naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will file suit next week against outgoing US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his alleged role in sanctioning torture.

On November 14, The Center for Constitutional Rights “will file a criminal complaint against former secretary of defence Donald Rumsfeld in a German Court,” the group said late on Friday. The complaint requests the German Federal Prosecutor open an investigation and, ultimately, a criminal prosecution that will look into the responsibility of high-ranking US officials for authorizing war crimes in the context of the war on terror.
