Michael Savage gets a lesson in politics 101
Posted on 11/10/2006 3:00:44 PM PST by RussP
I actually liked Michael Savage at one time, but now I am embarrassed for him every time I hear him (which is not often). The guy has become a clueless loon.
To show off his "independence," he refused to endorse Republicans. Fantastic, Michael! Then the day after the election it finally occurred to him that a Democratic Congress is now empowered to work with Bush on his amnesty program for illegal immigrants!
What kind of moron could not figure that out *before* the election?
Thanks a lot, Michael, for sitting on your hands and doing nothing when it counted most to help stop illegal immigration. You're a true patriot, but not a very bright one!
Michael calls Rush Limbaugh a shill for the Republicans, but Rush figured out *before* the election that (1) Bush is not on the ballot, and (2) if the Republicans don't win Congress, the Democrats will. In other words, Rush passed politics 101 a long time ago, but Michael never did.
I happened to be listening yesterday when a caller tried to point this out to him. How did Michael reply? He couldn't argue rationally, so he resorted to his usual 3rd-grade-level name calling and telling the guy to change his underwear. I kid you not.
Ironically, Michael wrote a book calling liberalism a mental illness, but Michael clearly has a mental illness of his own. He has become some kind of deranged, angry clown.

The GOP got it's ass kicked because it didn't have a coherent message until 2 weeks before the election to combat the lies the MSM was spreading. It got it's ass kicked because a lot of their members had gigantic albatross' around their necks from scandals. It lost because they had gotten cocky and forgot that when you lose power, you'll do anything to get it back.
Mostly it was the MSM who painted the WAR ( a really small side show as wars go ) as another Vietnam and covered up all the democrat sleeze for YEARS while focusing on the GOP sleeze

To compare Savage to Limbaugh is to compare Roseanne Roseannadanna to Brit Hume. This is not a slam against Savage; if anything, it's a compliment. Savage is there for entertainment, to say contradictory things for the sake of being contradictory, to offer an alternative to the serious shows. One should not be looking to him for serious political analysis. One should just tune in and enjoy the performance. You don't go to Saturday Night Live to get your news, but you do go there for the enjoyment of parody and satire. Savage's tactic is to get your goat by playing the blow-hard.
On the other hand, he may just be working to get listeners to think for themselves. By stating completely opposite things on different days, he may be using the internal conflict of listeners to wake them up to the fact that they are passively accepting what they hear about an issue rather than thinking for themselves.

Well at least you hold the same standard all around, not many do.
Well guys I have to grab some dinner. Nice talking to Savage fans and haters.
If I can leave you with something we may all agree on...

Savage bashing is the subject?
Name calling?
If you think Savage has the power to sway an election, what is there to debate?
Do you actually believe Savage has the power to sway a wupping we just got in a national level?
To: Dane
there are no weinerbots, unlike rushbots and bushbots, if savage listeners hear something they don't agree with, they don't just "carry the water"

Yep, which ties into where the message just wasn't there.
Ohio for example.
Sherrod Brown has or had a coke-dealer on his staff. He didn't fire this person even though they sold crack to an undercover cop.
Unfortunately this commercial didn't come up until 3-4 days before the election.
