Michael Savage gets a lesson in politics 101

Posted on 11/10/2006 3:00:44 PM PST by RussP

I actually liked Michael Savage at one time, but now I am embarrassed for him every time I hear him (which is not often). The guy has become a clueless loon.

To show off his "independence," he refused to endorse Republicans. Fantastic, Michael! Then the day after the election it finally occurred to him that a Democratic Congress is now empowered to work with Bush on his amnesty program for illegal immigrants!

What kind of moron could not figure that out *before* the election?

Thanks a lot, Michael, for sitting on your hands and doing nothing when it counted most to help stop illegal immigration. You're a true patriot, but not a very bright one!

Michael calls Rush Limbaugh a shill for the Republicans, but Rush figured out *before* the election that (1) Bush is not on the ballot, and (2) if the Republicans don't win Congress, the Democrats will. In other words, Rush passed politics 101 a long time ago, but Michael never did.

I happened to be listening yesterday when a caller tried to point this out to him. How did Michael reply? He couldn't argue rationally, so he resorted to his usual 3rd-grade-level name calling and telling the guy to change his underwear. I kid you not.

Ironically, Michael wrote a book calling liberalism a mental illness, but Michael clearly has a mental illness of his own. He has become some kind of deranged, angry clown.

Great post.

Also, what about the judges? I amost puked the other day when (after the election) Savage gave us his (admittedly entertaining) "communist feminist lesbian judges from hell" tirade. Well thanks alot Savage for undermining the Republicans so that now we have the Demoncrat Senators from hell running the judiciary committees.

Decent judges were the one thing we were getting from Bush and the Republicans. And now, thanks in large part to b-strds like Savage and Buchanan, the radical left is again empowered to resume stacking the federal bench with their agents.

Rumsfeld was one of the main targets of the left during this election.

Not here in Ohio where we lost a GOP senator, but keep on dreaming...

You take him away, it shows a new direction and the right thing to do.

Keep echoing those MSM talking points boy...

If you think keeping him around had no effect on the elections, I disagree.

The GOP got it's ass kicked because it didn't have a coherent message until 2 weeks before the election to combat the lies the MSM was spreading. It got it's ass kicked because a lot of their members had gigantic albatross' around their necks from scandals. It lost because they had gotten cocky and forgot that when you lose power, you'll do anything to get it back.

Rumsfeld was a convienent scapegoat for the excuse makers. Yes that includes you.

"Yesterday he thrashed Pelosi 90% of the time. She's not GOP."

Hey, wonderful. Two days after the friggin' election he starts trashing Pelosi. Before the election, when he could have helped stop her from becoming Speaker, he sat on his hands.

... Someone should read Reagan's 11th commandment to Savage.

Why don't you read it to the ilk herd right here on FR.

Savage and his listeners to know how much power you think he has.

The fact that a whole thread has been dedicated to Savage bashing.

Savage does not set policy. He give his opinion on policy.

Maybe the GOP should have secured the borders, cut the out of control spending, policed the curruption. Thought a little more about nominating Harriet Miers and the Dubia Ports Deal.

Maybe if the Bush Justice department has punihed the law breaking Clintonista's like Sandy Burglar instead of siccing the dogs on Curt Weldon, 3 weeks before the election... we would all be celebrating.

Although I'm sure he would be flattered, he does not have the power you seem to give him.

ok, just call me some names, that will help. ok, maybe cheerleaded wasn't a word, but the meaning is clear. savage wouldn't have turned the election had he done more cheerleading (better?) for the GOP before the election.

If Bush got rid of Rumsfeld months ago as Savage was calling for, we'd have the Senate.

You think all of the conservatives who didn't vote would have shown up to vote if Rumsfeld had been fired before the election? No - Rumsfeld had little, if anything, to do with disaffected conservatives.

Typical Savage logic. The point is not whether Savage (or anyone else) could have single-handedly changed the outcome of the election. The point is that he did not even try because he wanted to congratulate himself for being "independent." If Savage had a clue he would know that politics is a team sport.

"You Weiner-bots would walk right off the cliff if he told you too."

using your logic, all savage listeners voted republican, because savage said "I want everyone to vote republican" prior to the election. =)
