I would love to see what advice George McGovern would give to the Washington and Philadelphia city leaders on overcoming their crime problems.

Hang on there....I say let the demonrats do what the demonrats are going to do.....if the American people are so stupid (as many here claim) it will be a blessing in disguise.

I am not sure what power the congress has between now and June. The 2007 budget is already in place. They only can control the purse strings, and quite frankly this is the line where President Bush needs to battle, because the public will not go for defunding of the troops.

This is what America voted for. It's a disgrace but being openly traitorous is part of the game now. Accepted by the public. The media and Demonrats have done nothing but undermine this country and will lead to its destruction. Nov. 7, 2006 is going to go down as a day of infamy.

At least Lieberman is on our side on the WOT.
I take some comfort in that...for now.

"I think the Democratic leadership is wise enough to know that if they're going to follow the message that election sent, they're going to have to take steps to bring the war to a conclusion," he said.
I still have a little confidence in Americans that THAT is not the message that they were sending by allowing Pelosi, Rangel, Conyers, Reid, Durbin, etc. to leadership positions. What I heard for months around here was that people were going to "teach the Republicans a lesson.", but I don't think they realized in teaching them a lesson, they also endangered our troops.
At least, that is what I hope. I will be VERY disappointed to see a large number of Americans supporting a fast Democrat withdrawal.
The Dems may have just placed themselves between a rock and a hard place. The radical left wants immediate withdrawal tomorrow. The "teach them a lesson" Republicans and Libertarians don't. They are about to severely piss off one of these two groups.

If Democrats don't take steps to end the war in Iraq soon, they won't be in
power very long, McGovern told reporters....
***
And that is the raison d'etre of the Rats. They will say or do whatever it takes to get power. The safety and sovereignty of the nation and the protection of our American way of life are inconsequential to them.

Over the next year every liberal cockroach from the left will feel safe to come crawling out of the hole they have been hiding in to try and grab a last fleeting moment of fame. Expect McGovern, Jesse Jackson, Carter, Delay, Dukkakis, and others to show up. The scary thing is that the new congress will actually listen to these losers. And the MSM will try an make them relevant.

"McGovern will present his recommendations before the Congressional Progressive Caucus, a 62-member group led by Reps. Lynn Woolsey and Barbara Lee." Congressional Progressive Caucus - the legislative arm of the Democrat Socialists of America since the early 1970's. Chaired at one time by Socialist Bernie Sanders, now in the Senate.

I've told this story here before, several times. And it's an old, old story so many have already heard it. But it's just so perfect for illustrating how people, and groups, behave!
A big ol' bull frog is sunning himself on the bank of a river. Along comes a scorpion who asks the bull frog to give him a lift, on the frog's back, across the river since the scorpion can't swim. The frog says no, that he's afraid the scorpion will sting him and he'll die. The scorpion assures the bull frog that he won't sting him because if he did they would both die. The frog considers that and figures he's safe, the scorpion surely wouldn't do something that would kill too. Half way across the river the scorpion stings the frog. The frog is shocked an with his dying breath asks "Why would you do that, now we're both going to die!"
The scorpion's response? "I can't help it, IT'S MY NATURE!"
Certainly explains of lot of foolishness we'll see over the next couple of years! It's been long enough since the Dems were in control that a lot of newcomers to FreeRep will be shocked by their behavior! Get ready for an interesting ride! Dig out your "E" tickets!
