Maybe a little bit, but I think what happened was the GOP lost the Reagan Democrats. posted a bunch on this topic will not repeat again. I think single issuer and stay at homers did not account for much.

Republicans understand it just fine. It's the people who say they support the tent; nonstop crab about it, and claim they only want the best for the "team".

Yes, you see, there WAS a very brief statement but I was away for a few seconds and missed it. There are others besides me who did. No luck getting anyone to tell us what it was. I can't use the WH site video with my webtv, so I'm hopeless.

Have a good day, my friend.

Actually, you have had a good day. Someone called you Sonny in a reply.

Reminds of my 65 th Birthday. I was shopping with my wife at Walmart and there was a good wine on sale. So I put a couple of bottles in our basket.

I got carded at the checkout counter, and the clerk actually ran my driver's license through their machine.

My wife wanted to know how much I paid the local Walmart management to card me on my 65th birthday.

Thanks. Looks like the circular firing squad was to busy to post.

Speaking of which I suppose I should get back to the circle :)

"This is like paying a spoiled child to insult you and destroy your home."

Or shooting yourself in the foot, and then thinking the remedy is to turn around and shoot yourself in the other foot.

The fact that Rush Limbaugh even thinks that he has "carried water" for the administration for the past few years is the biggest laugh I have ever heard in my life.

He is simply the Oprah of the right.

We just lost a big election and people are going to vent. This is to be expected and I'm sure there will be a shaking out period. Some people are going to move on, others will join in. Alliances will shift. People will sharpen their objectives and goals.

Some are saying we have two years to regroup and recover our direction, but I don't think that's right. If we don't want to lose it all in '08, we'd best get our house together immediately.

We need to continue supporting the president and our troops, but we also need to focus on direction and candidates for the next election. And, of course, we're gonna be awfully busy at the same time fighting off Pelosi, Reid & Co in the Congress. Hope the shake out period doesn't last too long.

Arguing about what could've been, or should've been too long is counter productive. Best spend some time on getting together on what should be and can be done next to succeed.

I also don't see any value in spending the next two years absorbed in Bush/GOP bashing. Best get our wits together and concentrate on the battles to come. I for one do not relish the idea of living under the Democrat thumb for the next 40 years.

One reason why the Dems took over Congress was the youth vote. Young voters may have tipped the balance with the biggest turn out in 20 years. Over 10 million votes. Virginia was lost by only about 7,250 votes. The Republicans lost control of the Senate by less than 50,000 votes nationwide. Study the photo below. They are one reason why the Democrats now control Congress. Another major reason is that nearly 50% of eligible voters stayed home.

Young Democratic Supporters Cheer Their Victory

In the end, I blame Putin for this staggering Democratic victory. Spetnaz troops smuggled Iraq's WMD to Syria during the UN vote stalling engineered by the Russians. 95% of Americans do not even suspect the truth. Bush ought to have moved heaven and earth to expose the truth. Republicans should have been talking about Russkie duplicity openly. But Putin was viewed as "a friend" by the administration.

New World Order garbage. Let the North American Union go forward. Let Mexicans flood over our borders. Nobody even cares. So be it.

Good point. Wasn't Reagan an advocate or originator of the 11th Commandment?

There will be plenty of time ahead for lots of political battles. The election is over. The RATS won. They get the honeymoon and the immediate spoils.

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

AFTER MEETING WITH HIS CABINET

Rose Garden

11:28 A.M. EST

THE PRESIDENT: Earlier this week the American people went to the polls, and they cast their ballots for a new Congress. The American people made their decision; I respect the results, and so does my Cabinet. I want to congratulate the Democrat leaders on the victory they achieved for their party.

In a few minutes, Congresswoman Pelosi and Congressman Hoyer will be here for lunch. I'm looking forward to that visit. I'm also looking forward to my visit with Senator Reid and Senator Durban tomorrow. We'll discuss the way forward for our country, and I'm going to tell him what I just told our Cabinet: It is our responsibility to put the elections behind us and work together on the great issues facing America.

Some of these issues need to be addressed before the current Congress finishes its legislative session, and that means the next few weeks are going to be busy ones. First order of business is for Congress to complete the work on the federal spending bills for this year, with strong fiscal discipline, and without diminishing our capacity to fight the war on terror.

Another important priority in the war on terror is for the Congress to pass the Terrorist Surveillance Act. We also need to pass the bipartisan energy legislation that's now before Congress. And on the foreign policy front, we need to complete the work on legislation that will allow us to cooperate with India on civilian nuclear technology and pass trade legislation that will enable us to recognize Vietnam as a member of the WTO.

As the new members of Congress and their leaders return to Washington, I've instructed my Cabinet to provide whatever briefings and information they need to be able to do their jobs. The American people expect us to rise above partisan differences, and my administration will do its part.

One of the most important challenges facing our country is the war on terror, and Iraq is the central front in this war. Our country now has more than 149,000 men and women serving bravely in that country. Whatever party we come from, we all have a responsibility to ensure that these troops have the resources and support they need to prevail. I'm open to any idea or suggestion that will help us achieve our goals of defeating the terrorists and ensuring that Iraq's democratic government succeeds.

Yesterday I accepted the resignation of one of the original members of my Cabinet, Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. He could not be with us today because he's at Kansas State University to deliver the prestigious Landon Lecture, and to help dedicate the university's military science building as the General Richard B. Myers Hall.

Don has been an outstanding Secretary of Defense, a trusted advisor, and a loyal friend to me and his fellow Cabinet secretaries. I've named a good man to succeed Don Rumsfeld, former CIA Director Bob Gates. Secretary Rumsfeld has agreed to stay until Bob is confirmed, and I'm deeply grateful to Don for his service to our country.

Thank you all very much.

END 11:31 A.M. EST

After Impeachment, the idea of even speaking to these bastards became utterly disgusting to me.

Total agreement here.
