Prayers requested for the family of Raymond O'Donnell, my Father-in-Law, who passed away November 7, 2006 in Plant City, Florida.
He was a World War II combat veteran, one of our finest generation, that made possible the freedoms that we all enjoy today.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Angeline, his sons, Terry and Denny O'Donnell, and his daughter, Sherry Lee, my wife, also known on Free Republic as 'Mata-Sherry', and about 10 to 12 grandchildren (I don't know the total).
Brief Services have been held per his last wishes, and a Memorial Service will be held for him in January, 2007, in Plant City.

May God hold you and your family close to Him now and comfort you. May He give you peace and strength, knowing Ray is with the Lord, in Jesus' name.

Sorry to hear that, Gonz.
I read somewhere that over 3,000 per day of that "Greatest Generation" are passing away. That number sounds much too high but....
My father-in-law has been living with Darlie and me for over 2 1/2 years now. 81 and Health not good. Former B29 bombardier in the Pacific.
My dad lives in Mrytle Beach, SC. 83 and in great health. Army Air 316th Troop Carrier Group - C47 Crew Chief Sargeant - North Africa, Market Garden, Varsity...etc.
Yes, they are the "Greatest Generation"
