Well, if nothing else, at least this means the Dems get to spend the next two years on defense. They don't have anywhere near enough votes in either house to get anything major accomplished, but they still have to bear the brunt of being "in charge". Here's the keys, kids, have fun!

Even if they get the two left, doesn't that just tie us up and Cheney breaks the tie, which really leaves us in control? Am I mistaken? Please clarify if possible. Thanks.

Happens almost every year.

1998 - Ensign fails to unseat Reid because of the L.

2000 - Slade Gorton loses to Maria Cantwell because of the L.

2002 - Thune loses to Johnson because of the L.

2004 - Got lucky, no losses because of an L.

2006 - Both Burns AND Talent lose because of an L.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I really have no words on how bad that will be. I just cannot believe we are apparenty going to lose the Senate. The House I can live with....but the Senate?

And I don't think there is anything Pres. Bush can say that is going to make this any better.
