I mean to say that their nation was not destroyed. Many of the original elements were retained. We have done far more to "destroy" the old Iraqi state.....and it hasn't worked.

What the heck is wrong in Missouri?

Steele concedes.
A real shame.

So now Rush says our life doesn't depend on those in political power?
What about all the talk about our safety depends on who is in control What about all the talk for the safety of the unborn?

W sharpen up your pen and weld you veto hard
Cause hell broke out in DC and the Demos weld the cards
And if you weld that pen hard your legacy will be made of gold, if you don't Cheney might get your job.

The problem I saw was that the GOP did not get their message out to the regular folks, NOT the folks that gather here on FR, we got the messsage, we "get it", but so many people that do not follow politics as we do ever "got it", and that explanation should have come out to them a long time ago, instead all they got was what the MSM fed them, we allowed it to happen. I don't know how many times I would hear someone from the GOP speak and I would notice they weren't making it clear enough. I think some of us could have done a much better job getting the people to understand, maybe next time we need to raise funds to get some air time! LOLAmen. I couldn't say it better myself.

Rush: "Do not elections run and effect your life. ... Your life will go on. ... Don't turn over your life to government
Yeap but we will have less money in our pocket and maybe pick up a second job, so we can pay others welfare bills.

Good bye Judges. They can kill them in committee now without the PR hit of a fillibuster.
Question: Could W make a recess appointment to the Supreme Court?

My life will be affected by higher taxes, by higher gasoline taxes, nationalized health care, lower 401K, and a demoralized military.

And, hence, he lost.
Social conservatism that defends LIBERTY (gun freedom, federalism, family values as a moral concept) is still ok.
But social conservatism that restricts freedom and liberty (stem cells, abortion, gay marriage) is not a winner.
Economic conservatism -- low taxes, lower spending -- that should be our focus.
