DAMASCUS, Syria - Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal said Wednesday that a truce with Israel is finished and his group's militants can resume fighting following an Israeli tank attack that killed 18 Palestinians.
Militants will answer the deaths with "deeds, not words," Mashaal told a news conference in the Syrian capital.
"The truce (with Israel) ended at the end of 2005," Mashaal said. "The armed struggle is free to resume, and the resistance is dictated by local circumstances."
The truce formally ended last year but had remained in effect.
Palestinian witnesses and officials said Israeli tank shells crashed into a residential neighborhood early Wednesday, killing at least 18 people, including 10 children, in their sleep.
Security officials said that five tank shells landed in the area near the town of Beit Hanoun within 15 minutes. Most of the casualties were in a row of homes belonging to members of one extended family, officials said.

Do you really believe Israel will let Iran have nuclear weapons? I know they are swayed by what we say but if it is about survival they will not just sit around and let that happen. I don't know...I really don't. They've sat around for years surrounded by countries who teach their children to hate Jews...because allah says so. They endure suicide bombings and other forms of violence from muzzies everyday. Is that surviving? I believe Israel is more than "swayed" by what we say, and simple economics is the core reason. But again...this is MHO.

Their number appears to be on hold.

They have already put out that they are now going to reach out to India. That didn't take long did it?

This is only the begining... The real wars will start soon... Let the Dems start making weak policy decisions and see how emboldened they really become....
Nancy Pelosi will be cowering under the Speaker desk before the end of January.

Our enemies are seeing the election results as America waving the white flag. Perfectly understandable, and predictable.
I can't fault people for wanting to "stop the killing" and "bring the troops home." But they haven't thought it through! In their naivete, they have managed to send a clear message of weakness to the world - to our friends, and to our enemies. Allies will consider us unreliable; enemies will consider us unwilling to commit to any difficult conflict.
The election of Democrats will result in many thousands of people (if not more) dying than otherwise would have.
Ultimately, the people decide, and get what they deserve. People don't understand the threat, and may not until it's too late. I am very discouraged about the future health of Western Civilization.
It may sound too over-dramatic, but I sincerely believe it.
I hope I'm wrong. I fear I'm right.

There was a truce? A truce is where they fire rockets into Israel everyday?

"Most of the casualties were in a row of homes belonging to members of one extended family, officials said. " With all the incest, cousin marriage and worse - I suspect the family trees in most Arab families/tribes have only one branch.
