We have a lot of work to do before 2008, but I think we are up for it.

FoxNews reporting from the White House: White House spokesman Tony Snow reacted to the change in House control by allowing they're disappointed, but that it presents some intriguing opportunities, such as passing comprehensive immigration reform which failed in the previous Republican House."

I am from flyover country not liberal New England and we certainly support the President on the War in Iraq and have returned our four Republicans and one Dem who all five support the WAR in Iraq and the President on foreign policy.

I am not holding my breath but you never know when the Clinton faction takes over and gives Lieberman the cold shoulder! He just might get fed up as he is good friends with a lot of the GOP.

Let me see. The Anti Immigration crowd just fired the ONLY people in DC who were fighting for THEIR side on Immigration.
You think anyone in DC is going to support the 100%ers Anti Immigration crowd now? YOU all just sent DC the wrong message. One of the things they are going to figure is the US House Republican STAND on Immigration COST them votes. Loyalty goes UP and Down the Chain of Command. The Antis have given no one in DC any reason at all to be loyal to them. They have only themselves to blame for this mess.
The Antis made their political bed with their temper tantrums today, they can go lie in it.

You wanted the Democrats to win, you got it. Go celebrate with themWhere did you get this insane idea from? What, because I don't like Allen? Apparently, a lot of other people here in Virginia didn't either, but that DOESN'T mean I wanted ALL Democrats to win! (Incidentally, I didn't vote for Webb but wrote in a local candidate in my home district.) Now leave me alone.

I think if the Clinton faction supports the Arabs and not Israel which I expect, then Lieberman is going to have to consider what is in the best interest of Israel and that would be joining Republicans for caucus purposes.

To: PhiKapMom
Maybe. But I doubt it. He's always said he was going to caucus with the Democrats. It would take a lot to get him to leave that party.

Even if your premise was accurate, we can't simply pull out of Iraq and let it's populace face the ravages that would follow. When we did this in Vietnam over three million people in the region were slaughtered. We must not let that happen in Iraq. If we do, this will be the last time anyone partners with us.
There were a number of dynamics at work Tuesday. Some of it was related to the war. Some of it was related to the Bush' stance on stem cells. Some of it was related to same sex marriage. Some of it was just plain whackjob leftist propagandist disinformation. And then some of it was the perception by some on the right that their hopes and goals were not shared by this president.
This may be more of a referendum on Iraq than I give it credit for, but it doesn't matter. We are in Iraq and we WIll see it through. That's the way it's going to be.

Can you try dealing with the future instead of clinging to the past? We were going to lose seats. 2nd Mid Term of the Party of the President almost always lose. What we lost by was SO small a margin it indicates we are STILL a 50-50 nation. That is the point.

Wow, that didn't take long. You know, that's almost as baq as Carter conceding before the polls closed on the west coast. "Hey, you folks didn't support me so I'm going to do what I wanted all along just to get even."
Doesn't sound very good.
Thank you.
