SOME good news. I hope he wins. He'd make a decent governor after Ahnold is done.

Yeah, I'm strangely sanguine about the whole thing, too. Not that it doesn't sting, but I guess I've been through enough of these things to know life goes on.

McCain may be growing on me. Ack.

Who even remembers what Goldwater stood for? Certainly not the "true conservatives" (including RR), who have pushed for big government when it served their agenda, not the Party's.

Talent has dropped another .03 in MO, and there're only about 600 precincts to go, most likely in KC and SL.

Steele, so far, has carried all but one county in MD. If he peels off enough of the black vote in the remaining counties, he may just make it. He's still 76k votes ahead.

face it, we are running out of states. we can't win senate races in ohio, virginia, missouri. we need a presidential candidate that can win all of those states.

Unfortunately the demographics of this country have changed drastically since Reagan was first elected. The white population is way down and will a minority in 20-30 years, if not sooner. Most of the WWII generation Americans who elected Reagan have sadly passed away. We are stuck with an increasingly blue country as I see it, especially if the amnesty advocates have their way.

Yeah, how'd that 2008 favorite of 'true conservatives' George Allen do tonight? Rick Santorum? Katherine Harris? Notice that Hayworth, Graf, and a host of other Tancredo types went down in flames? And don't try to copout and compare Giuliani to DeWine and Chafee, Giuliani has supported the President on most issues and hasn't backstabbed him once.

Question: why hasn't our justice department been more proactive in looking into voter fraud and looking at crooked democrats. I was very disappointed when the raid on Jefferson's office set off Hastert and the President.. you didn't hear the dems screaming when Ronnie Earl went after Tom Delay.

My brother from TN called and said he could not believe Corker just squeaked by. He felt he should have won by more votes, but he is so glad he won!!! He said it is a devastating thing that the votes which went out tonight are counterproductive to all our military is trying to accomplish and he is angry that his grandchildren are put in danger now just because so many people vote ignorantly for their own agendas.

It's Rudy/Sanford '08.

I like it -- Rudy can take the high road, and Sanford can say to Kerry "You big dummy!"

The Senate was going to be close regardless. Way to many Republican seats were at risk.

If you look @ Texas, we sent all of our Republican Representatives back to DC (save the FUBAR in Delay's old seat) as well as Senator Hutchinson. All the R's won by wide margins including the Senator. If there had been a giant anti-GOP wave, it would have shown up here too.

The Senate seats we lost were in states that either lean Rat or were roughly 50-50. It doesn't take much in a 50-50 state to send a candidate down the drain.

Don't fall for it! He is practiced in talking the conservative talk (when it helps him); but the walk is in the other direction.

"Lost the Ohio senate seat most likely due to Bob Taft and his corruption. DeWine did not help himself by going RINO but I think Taft screwed every statewide Republican running."

DeWine got Crushed for two reasons "Gang of 14" and TAFT!

Let me tell you my little town is so Republican we don't even have Democrat candidates running in anything local its either Repub or Independent, and many of my dearest friends (some who think Rush Limbaugh is just a bit too liberal) did not vote for a candidate in the Gov race the Senate and our Ohio Rep.

In fact the joke here was, Question: "Who you voting for for Ohio Governor, Senate and Representative.

Answer: Nay!

Not what I heard .. on Cavuto today, they were talking about the optimism in the markets because they felt optimistic the Pubs would hold. The markets HATE tax increases, and now they're coming. I expect a steadly decline, and cash will be king. Business doesn't like uncertainty or higher taxes.

He's not in my state and I'm not voting for him for President ...

He is from my state -- his "ranch" is about 10 miles up the road -- and I dread the thought of him on the ticket!

Great googley-moogley!
