Have alot of folks forgotten what it means to lose the senate?
Judicial nominees. If the rats win, Stevens will retire. Maybe Ginsberg too!
What a battle that will be.
Bush better go to the mat over those seats on the SCOTUS.

Anyone who thinks America is getting more liberal is misreading the situation. The immigration debate hurt us with a lot of blue collar types (and myself). Iraq COULD have been a winner, but the Republicans failed to explain why it is important. The facts would have supported republicans, but no one (including GWB) made a case to the voters. The economy was missing in action from the debate.

Meanwhile, democrats won as 'conservatives' - but even those who might lean that way won't be allowed to VOTE that way.

Mr Rogers prediction: Republicans will rethink, regroup - and do just fine in 2008.

The Rats only need two more wins to gain control of the House.

I'm not so sure I believe that anymore. We'll see what happens with the cut and run Dems.

I'll take the first caribou hunting detail. We'll need meat. :-)

I was in Canada this summer and had caribou for the first time ever. It was the best wild game I have ever tried. Yum!

Yes, Rs must face the FACT that our officeholders must approach perfection in their personal and professional conduct - the MSM will never allow any slack or "benefit of the doubt" unless it is a Demagogue (Harry Reid, Wm Jefferson in LA, Mollohan in WV, etc. etc.). Demagogues can get away with all kinds of crap and the MSM will protect them, but Rs cannot afford even the barest appearance of impropriety (ala Weldon), and we certainly cannot afford any more Foleys, etc.

The friggin' truth is that 50 plus% of Americans want socialism and isolationism. I hate it but there it is.

"He is bipartisan now....whatever!----
I think they are ALL going to be bipartisan now, especially if they win majorities anywhere--they will play the Iraq War by ear, day by day, modulating criticism one day, strident the next, withholding whatever they can with "principled determination", then, as things improve there, as they WILL over the next year,we will all have arrived at the next Presidential election, and the Dems will take full credit for pushing Bush in that direction.

NO WAY!!!

They wouldn't do that!!!

ugh..

One good thing...I think I saw the flickering of realization in McCain's eyes tonight that he is OVER as POTUS in 2008.

It's going to have so many implications. The new governor has NO plan for anything, as bad as Taft in that regard, and we have so many pressing challenges in this state. Then the polarization of a Brown as senator, and he'll bring no federal favors to the state if the pubs hold the senate. I guess we'll see Putin visiting sometime soon.

No. The GOP House was strong on illegal immigration. The GOP House is being defeated tonight.

Geesh, why won't this sink in? The base was depressed so it affected EVERYONE in the GOP ranks.

The House was harder hit because EVERYONE is up for re-election.
