Editor's note: On Monday, Karl Rove joined Hugh Hewitt on his radio program to discuss polliing, House races, the Senate and all things Election 2006. The transcript follows:
HH: Hello, Karl.
KR: How are you, man?
HH: Great, thank you. Karl, youve been an optimist. What sort of data do you have? And whats it telling you to justify that optimism?
KR: Well, for the past six weeks or so, Ive been looking at as many as 68 polls every week, for as many as 68 races for the House, the Senate and governorships. And so I see the national polls, like everybody else does, but I get a chance to look at the data all across the country, and I see in these individual races that candidates have been able to create it as a choice between them and their opponent. Not just on local issues, but on big national issues as well. And as a result, it gives me a sense of optimism that well have a Republican Senate and a Republican House.
HH: What would the margins be? Any ideas yet you want to predict?
KR: I dont want to get into individual
into predicting that, but Im not going to be a prognosticator there. But I just
I feel good about the Senate, and the House is a race by race, district by district battle, that when you add it up, I see us with a majority.

Most conservatives don't see him that way.

Too bad for him Buchanan isn't running.

Yep, looks like most of his posts are for the sole purpose of bashing the Republican party. *rolling my eyes* Just what we need on election day...

Buchanan just said he sees a "Democratic wave" based on a long line of Democrats in New Hampshire!

Lol I don't ever recall looking to Buchanan for advice on anything. But I appreciate the networks sense of humor in referring to him as a "conservative."

Remember, remember the Rove of November,
The MSM treason and plot
I see no reason why MSM treason
Should ever be forgot.
For MSM and Dems 'twas their vile intent,
To defeat Repubs and impeach a President.
By God's mercy 'tis they who will be defeated
With votes; and not voices heated.
T'won't be Reid for Frist
Nor Pelosi for Hastert
For Rove is the Magnificent Bastard

I am one and I follow what the leaders of the movement have to say on issues.
You? What makes you believe that calculating political operatives such as Rove (that IS his job, after all) have any interest in ideology?
The man talked to La Raza!
To: mutley
"I'll bite. How do "most conservatives" see him?"
As a political operative, not a General.
The only reason I can see that there is ANY doubt about the Republicans holding their position or gaining is due to the apparently calculated dismissal of the base of the party by Rove, et al.

"Enoch seems to be a single issue poster. "
Massive spending, massive federal expansion, disinterest in defending our borders...
That's 3 issues right there.

Yes, he's a political strategist. But a Republican one by choice. Unlike Dick Morris, Karl is not bipartisan.

"But a Republican one by choice. Unlike Dick Morris, Karl is not bipartisan."
Is he? Or has he just worked for Republicans?
If an example of his political strategy is lending the prestige of the White House to Mexican Nazis (La Raza) right before a contentious vote that continues to cool support for Republicans (guilt by association, I guess) up to this day?
None of these issues should have been at all close. What brilliance has he shown? Why are seats at risk? Why did someone like Kerry - even with the MSM behind him - get so close to the Presidency?
