I like all these polls. They are almost as interesting as gas station by gas station posts of unleaded regular gasoline prices.

"In our brave new schools, Johnny can't say the pledge, but he can recite the Quran"

That's why my Johnny is going to a Christian School in Walnut Creek, CA. There are a few public schools in California that are strong academically. But even those schools have mandates to teach the kids garbage like the garbage you are referring to.

We need to add Melanie Morgan's picture (MoveAmericaForward.com) to the Republican slate!

Good morning, P-Marlowe :) In reading this thread I noticed that you seem to be contradicting yourself. You've commented that:

#163: "Exit polls are usually skewed towards democrats. We here at Free Republic are smart enough to know that! We are not sheeple. We are activists."

#203: Dane said, "...some on FR when they see the fraudulent drive bu media exit polls, they will still panic and wail like chicken littles." You responded, "I have more respect for my fellow freepers than that."

#217: "It's too bad Free Republic has taken this stand. Now we will hear the exit polls, but we will have no where to go to warn people to ignore them, we will have no where to go to tell people that what they have heard is baloney."

So my point is that you've argued that FReepers are smart enough to know that exit polls are skewed towards the Dems, that we are not sheeple, and you have more respect for your fellow FReepers than to suggest that we would be swayed by exit polls.

But then you argue that by not posting the exit polls here we won't be able to warn people to ignore them; no way to tell them that it's a bunch of baloney.

Just an observation. :)

I love the smell of rain in the morning; smells like, I dunno, Victory!

Cool, rainy, dreary day here in southern IN. It's not fair! Republicans have to vote on a rainy day but it will be dry and warm Wednesday when the Dims vote.

40 below here, but it's warmed up to -36. The smell of victory takes on a whole new meaning when your nostrils are frozen together. ;)

My point was simply that if there are leaks of exit polls, then we need to know where they are and what they are so that we can discuss them and to provide anyone who would be interested the needed information to dispel these notions. Perhaps people at your office will say "Hey this exit poll says Santorum is a loser" and you can then discuss that issue here and be given the ammuntion to refute it where it is being disseminated. I'm sure that radio shows and web sites will be posting these leaks and I think it is important to know who is leaking them, where they are leaking them and what information they are leaking. If we just ignore it, if we don't discuss it here, then where will it be discussed? Who will post counter information? Where can we post the counter information?

I just find it odd that Free Republic has taken this position. We have never been afraid of disinformation before. What makes today so special?

Wow! Now that is what I call COLD! Hope you have a great turnout anyway and all the good guys win.

Turnout in my county is 4% higher than normal but everything seems to be going well. They have turned away a few people for not having a picture ID. Makes me happy that they are on top of the ID issue and not letting things slide.

While I understand your point, I also believe that the decision to not post exit polls today was a decision not made lightly. I'm sure much deliberation went into making this decision and I think we should respect that.

You asked, "What makes today so special?" It's November 7th, voting day, and the future and security of the United States of America is at stake. That makes it pretty special to me. :)

LOL! Yes, we do. Like many Alaskans, we have an "inny" and an "outy". Inside toilet and an outhouse. When we lived north of the circle, and also that first winter we spent in the new house we built where we live now, we only had an "outy".

I voted a week ago. You could have too. Anyone who believes there is the slightest possibility that they may not be able to get to the polls on time needs to apply for an absentee ballot.

Indeed, I think it is imperative that people vote at least a week before the election since that way they cannot be swayed by exit polls or these horrid last minute smear commercials that I have been seeing the last couple of days.
