Just got back from voting with bmwcyle, my husband. We got in line at 5:40am, were #2 and #3 in line....good thing were weren't late!

Lots of cars when we left but everyone is trying to get in before leaving for work. Polls are open 6am - 7pm here in Virginia. Sure hope things are busy all day.

Neighbor fixed breakfast for poll workers/judges and early voters in neighborhood.

Mostly Dems, as is my neighbor, a few Repubs. No election talk -- prayer of Thanksgiving for our freedom to vote, plea for temperate minds whatever the outcome with no bitterness or hatred for the winners or gloating and derision towards the losers.

Amen.

Thank you troops for guarding us night and day.

I'm almost always out of town at a conference for election day and this year is no exception. In 2000 I was in San Francisco (ugh). I'm heading to the airport in a few minutes as I head to New Orleans for the largest convention held there since Katrina. I'll be back here tonight to join you all! The hotel does not get Fox News. :-(

I am off to work as a poll machine operator. Our precenct is pretty mych a swing precenct. As it goes so goes the state, usually. The Rats will carry West Tennessee and the Repubs will carry East Tennessee. It is Middle Tennessee which determines who will carry the state and that is where I am. I will post the results of our precenct as soon as I get home. Probably around 8:00 PM. The good news is that it is raining steady here and is suppose to keep it up all day. GOTV. Our lives depend on it.

From the UK - good luck and God speed!

The stakes today are as high as they have ever been. The Democrats have thrown up a miasma of lies and deceit for so long that it's hard to imagine a world untainted by their misery and their hateful lust for power. But I am positive that the common decency of the American citizen will prevail.

Just got back. I was 4th in line....ID, verification form filled out.....on to the Diebold. Voted straight GOP, and even wrote myself in for one of the judge seats, as I didn't like the incumbant. There were probably 30 people there when the polls opened. I walked away with a good, hopeful sense about the outcome. It's now going to be a loooooooooong day.

I'm in PA and tried to vote before work this morning, but the new touch-screen voting machines at my polling places weren't ready. Rather than watch six sweet but technically challenged older ladies try to figure them out, I left for work. Guess I'll take my chances later, but chomping at the bit nonetheless.

Jacksonville, Alabama. Cool, wet, rain, wind. PERFECT weather. My wife and I were first in line, got our ballots and instead of just marking the straight R ticket, we actually voted individually for each R candidate for the fun of voting for each and every R on the ballot. There were a couple of dim onlys in a couple of places. They got skipped. Otherwise, straight R ticket. My governor, Bob Riley led quickly 2-0 in his race to smash the socialist-liberal slug Lucy Baxley. A complete and utter liberal slime ball. ON TO VICTORY!!!

New voting machines down in our precinct, a very conservative district of Central Ohio. My husband said they were asking people to come back later.

My 12 year old daughter is working the polls handing out pamphlets to voters. She's wearing GOP earings and red, white & blue outfit. She's a great kid!

Voted around 7:30 a.m. here in Central PA.

Fairly long line for these rural parts (about a 10-15 minute wait).

When I asked a longtime poll worker "How's the turnout?" she said "We can barely keep up" (she's an elderly lady and a solid Republican - and she's been working the polls for decades). This is good, because we're in a very Republican RED area.

Here's an interesting little thing I overheard:

As I was signing in, a poll worker came over from the computer voting area and said to the poll worker with the book "We have another runaway voter - put a slash by her name". I'm guessing that this means the voter started her ballot on the computer and walked out of the polling place, but didn't press the "vote" button that actually casts the ballot. And, obviously, from the comment, she was at least the second voter to do so. Interesting phenomenon. Wonder how common this is?

Raining and low 50's at 6:30am here in Indianapolis. I was the 22nd person to vote (according to the readout on the scanning machine.)

Pulled the lever for the Republicans this morning and feel fantastic about it!!!

Send the Dims a message, vote Republican.
