My fellow FRiends. Should the GOP retain both Houses, can you imagine how much fun it is going to be tomorrow watching the likes of Chris Matthews and, ugh, Keith Olbermann trying to explain it?

Wait, I think I already know what they're going to say. It was Jon Cary's fault! Bwahahahahah

Allen won in 2004 by 4%. Virginia has its big pockets of traitor party dims.

Fox should be delighted--I have never seen ED Hill make over a guest like she does Ford. Even Ann Coulter says that he's her favorite Democrat. I'm wouldn't be surprised if they didn't hire him if (no, "when") he loses.

It's like the poll numbers on this race change every ten minutes. What is it, the battle of the press releases?

It doesn't matter what the polls say - it only matters what the certified results say.
And you can bet if they don't say "Webb" there are going to be some lawsuits...

That's what happens when lazy reporters only poll places they can get to by Metro.

I know that 4% isn't a lot, but usually incumbents have a big advantage. Four years of exposure and name recognition (in addition to 'bringing home the bacon in federal jobs/dollars) is a big reason why incumbents have such high percentages of reelection.

It's incredible that those advantages in a 'relatively' conservative state, in a time of a booming economy with incredibly LOW UNEMPLOYMENT---could possibly lose to some like Webb (who, on top of everything,,,,even LOOKS LIKE LARRY FLYNT)!

Amazing, absolutely amazing.

Anyone in VA: Allen is giving a speech tonight... is this to lock up the victory, or a sign of concern? Also hearing that the Allen camp has done no internal polling since Thursday -- a good indicator or bad?

My sense would be good, but I'm not on the ground...

The address tonight with Senator Warner is a good thing. This all comes down to voter turnout tomorrow. Allen has been barnstorming the state. This way, HE gets the last shot at speaking to the entire state.

As for the internal polling, I don't know if they've stopped or not.

Most of us have been focused on GOTV efforts.

49 to 46% leaves 5% other or undecided. I read that the third-party candidate in Virginia might drop out of the race but don't know if she actually did so. In Tennessee it's a two man race (I think there are a few other names on the ballot but just vanity candidates). Corker should get over 50%...Allen could win with less than 50%, which isn't important as long as he doesn't lose.

I guess there could be identical margins--51.5/48.5 and 49/46/5, but it's not likely.
