That same mood is spurring the labor movement in Virginia where Democrat James Webb, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, is running hard to oust GOP Sen. George Allen. Webb opposed the Iraq war before it began and has been hammering Allen for his rubber-stamp backing of Bushs failed war and occupation.
Doris Crouse-Mays, secretary-treasurer of the Virginia AFL-CIO, said the 190,000 union members in Virginia played a huge role in electing Democrat Tim Kaine as governor in 2005. The labor movement fielded 1,700 volunteers who knocked on 40,000 doors and distributed 415,000 get-out-the-vote leaflets to help elect Kaine.
Now, she said, union members are working just as hard to elect Webb. The loss of jobs and the economy, when people are working longer hours, holding down multiple jobs just to stay alive, its time for a change, she told the World by phone from her Richmond office.
The minimum wage hasnt been raised for 10 years, she said. Jim Webb has already said he will support an increase in the federal minimum wage. Sen. Allen voted against a minimum wage increase but he voted to raise his own salary. A rising tide is not floating all boats.
Joe Szakos, executive director of the Virginia Organizing Project, said his group does not endorse candidates yet is mobilizing for a big vote Nov 7. We point out the obvious: Senator Allen opposes a minimum wage increase. Jim Webb supports an increase, he said.

Guess they enjoy reading porn.
Someone should post this over at DU so they'll know who to vote for.
Webb is an absolute menace and BS artist. His soul purpose right now is to keep Allen from running in 2008. Hillary gave Webb his marching orders and like a good little Marxist he's trashing Allen at every opportunity. Webb reminds me of "Stymie" on "Get Smart". He was the robot, and when you opened his shirt you saw nothing but circuitry.

I wish these commies would point out to someone what happens when the minimum wage is increased. Fewer jobs are developed, that's what. Of course, I really wouldn't expect proponents of a dead economic and social theory to endorse a candidate who stands for job growth and low taxes. Mr. Webb really is their cup of tea.
Viva Allen!
How deliciously ironic that the union bosses, the pinkos and the genunine reds are so enthusiastic in their support of this enigmatic Webbster -- he who just a year or two back was extolling (in his uncharacteristically "non-porn" book) the independence and ruggedness of his and my beloved Scots-Irish:
After all, it's these very folk who doubtless are the most anti-union ethnic group in our great nation!
[Not to mention that the ironic Gentleman Jim is one and the same Lt. Webb who back in those golden days of yesteryear was denouncing Billy Jeff Clinton's moral failures in terms that make the likes of Newt Gingrich and Zell Miller seem as veritable lambs.]
OH YES!! Please anyone here who is signed up there , DO IT!!!!!
Looking at his political positions, pro minimum wage, anti-tax cuts, his enemy must be the states EMPLOYERS!
Can this possibly be good for EMPLOYEES? How do you make the people who sign our checks the declared enemy without harming those employed by them?
If allen wins by 4+ points then their strategy will have backfired. (4 points is the margin he won by in 2000, and same for john warner in 1996). If, and thats a big if, he wins by that margin or higher he can go off and say, they threw everything including the kitchen sink at me and not only am i still standing but i still won by a decent margin.
I wonder why that is?..
NEVER would you hear one running against a democrat use those two words..
Those words pulls the mask off any... ANY democrat..
YET they remain UNused..
Its LIKE; the story of "the King has no clothes"..
and ALL are afraid to say "the KING is NAKED"...
Exactly like that.. THAT SHOULD STOP...
The TRUTH WILL make America FREE...
BIRDS OF A FEATHER!
LLS
Democrats, Communists, what's the difference? It's mostly a question of degree.
