You call that an "apology" puhleeze Kerry

Posted on 11/05/2006 11:32:23 AM PST by guinnessboy

I emailed this into my local town paper here in MA today, hope it makes it by Tuesday:

You call that an apology?

Please. It looks like more elitism, patronization and blame deflection than anything else to me. Read below and judge for yourself (his words, not mine). You the "misinterpreting" viewer, listener, reader and voter are also to blame for not "getting" Senator Kerry's "botched joke":

"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended," Kerry said.

"As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: My poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and [was] never intended to refer to any troop," he said.

"It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy," he said. "I don't want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops."

John Kerry has had at least from the Democrat primaries prior to the last Presidential election until now to come up with that "winning strategy for changing the course and providing real security."

Quite frankly, I'm not buying anything the senator is selling here. But I guess in this anti- Bush, anti- Republican, anti- war and anti - American climate we currently live in, anything can pass as an apology, even if it is actually insult number two.

An honorable person would appologize in person, if possible. In this case, on television would be the most personal I would expect.

Yea, like that's gonna' happen.

bannie, no doubt, I couldn't believe it when he released his apology statement on tv to be read by someone else. Has he still not made an in person apology?

I haven't heard that he has.

That traitor should head for Iraq and make numerous personal appearances (He indicated that he'd like to "personally apologize" to them.). He's too cowardly 'cause he knows the greeting that he's earned from them.

So what is this marvelous plan? Why are the dems so reluctant to let us in on this big secret if it's so wonderful?

Even that skunk Turdbin stood up on the Senate floor and gave a proper apology(for what it's worth). Kerry's was double-speak... done, no less, on his website.

Hey Kerry... stick yer' bogus apology up yer' botoxed a$$!

Whoa! Hold on there. I did not write that fine letter; I was just pinging you to it. Also, no one in my immediate family is in the service.

I think it ridiculous for Kerry and his media apologists to say it is unthinkable to conclude that he would call soldiers dumb, when in 1972 he specifically commented that the all volunteer army would result in the lowest class of soldiers. Just like it is ridiculous for them to criticize Rush for speculating that Fox adjusted his meds when Fox himself admits to having done so before a Congressional appearance.

You call that an apology?

It was supposed to be a JOKE! OK, so he said that all military people are idiots. Can't you just laugh and be done with it? I mean, our sons and daughters put their life on the line to defend this country. What isn't more hilarious than THAT? They DESERVE to be mocked.

Effin Kerry should resign in disgrace...

This arrogant pinhead is even incorrect in his apology. How can a security policy that has prevented another 9/11 attack within our nation, kept the terrorists battling off our homeland and in the Middle East, kept them on the defensive and forcing the cowardly terrorist leaders to hide in holes and caves and forests, etc., a FAILED POLICY? How is interrupting the terrorists' funding a failure? How is bringing Saddam to justice, a failure?

The only failure is a man like john kerry lying his way thru life and not managing to keep this fact hidden. A major failure on his part, major victory for America.

There was nothing 'misinterpreted' about his words. His words are a matter of record. That he would suggest that we are all too stupid to understand his real intention, is, yet, another insult. Senator Kerry represents the worst of American politics and the people of Massachussetts who keep electing him represent the worst of what was once the patriotic center of America.
