Maybe some more of those unidentified 'youths' managed to fry themselves while running from the police.

Solar power doesn't work at night, global warming notwithstanding. ;)

Turn out the lights, the party's over.

IIRC, during the 1964 NYC blackout, that's when the party began. The birthrate spiked nine months later.

Babelfish is hilarious sometimes.

"Important" is used in a totally different context in Europe. We would say "critical".
As for being "private" (deprived), it makes for an interesting verbal puzzle...

I was on the B-53 bus in the middle of Forest Park apparently because I was completely clueless. When I got home, about 40 minutes later, I asked by sister "did we blow a fuse", she said, "The block blew a fuse, the whole city blew a fuse, the whole Northeast blew a fuse." We listened to the news on a transistor radio for a while and went to bed.

I guess they used the same computer as for the Airbust 380 wiring to design their grid.
