I saw the pics in post #128...that sign on the playground says it all...we are there because we believe that EVERY child deserves to live in freedom.
Thank you for the wonderful pic's & report, KSoldier. Thank you for the work you do, and for being a light in these kids lives. Very sweet pictures; good job.

"....terrorizing kids and children, you know, uh women, in the dead of night ........."

Yeah, and didn't Sineter Cary tell us that it is the job of the Iraqi Army to inflict such terror?
Is that ride on a bridge over the Euphrates or Tigris river?
Here they come! As soon as we arrive in a village, the kids come running to see us.
These are the streets that kids play in
and yes, that water is what you could imagine it is
The smile says it all
(I LOVE this pic!)

Not a "Photo-Op" sign--villagers made this on their own during early war and have kept it up despite the threat of terrorist retaliations against them.
(My brother gave me permission to share these photos, but I'm not sure he'd like me to post his identity in association with me!)
[...] the left's constant harping that we must leave Iraq is affecting the Iraqi people and that they will turn against us if they think they may be killed after we leave.
I fear this is correct, beckysueb. :-(

Great pics...good to hear from you. Give my best wishes to your brother.
(you need to get a happier sounding tagline.)
"...It's time we recognized the nature of the conflict. It's total war and we are all involved. Nobody on our side is exempted because of age, gender, or handicap. The Islamofacists have stolen childhood from the world." [FReeper Retief]
"...That the totalitarian force pitted against freedom wears a religious makes this civil war among mankind all the more difficult to engage. Loving freedom as we do, it seems reprehensible to deliberate against a religion. But this is no ordinary religion as it demands absolute obedience of all to their religion at the cost of freedom itself." [FReeper Backtothestreets]
