Democrats — Stuck on Stupid
The Free Times of Columbia ^ | 11-4-06 | MissEdie

"Sen. John Kerry then told the [Pasadena City College] students that if they were able to navigate the education system, they could get comfortable jobs ‹ 'If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq,' he said to a mixture of laughter and gasps." ‹ Pasadena Star News, Oct. 31

Most election years, I'm a W.C. Fields American: I never vote for anyone, I always vote against. And if ever there was an election that cried out for Freddy Krueger-esque political bloodletting, it's this one.

So until today my plan was to walk into the nearest voting booth, look for an incumbent and shout, "Off with his head!"

Then I read what U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-My Wife's Enormous Bank Vault) had to say at his pre-election "vote Democrat" rally to a crowd of California college kids. Suddenly, I'm engaged in this election. For the first time in years, I have someone to vote for.

My vote will go to the guys "stuck in Iraq."

You know, those (as John Kerry imagines them) barely literate clods? Those underachievers whose life prospects are so utterly limited that their only career options are crime, telemarketing and ‹ horrors ‹ the military? Heaven forbid any young people at a Democratic Party rally commit the kind of egregious lifestyle mistakes that might force them into a life of humiliating military service.

Those poor, pathetic souls standing watch in Iraq and Afghanistan, if only they'd worked harder in school, focused more on athletics ‹ a polo scholarship, maybe. Instead, Democrats like John Kerry see them for what they truly are: the dregs of society, the bottom of the socioeconomic barrel. No prospects. No hope.

Why else would they be serving in George W. Bush's Army?

Kerry isn't the only Democrat who understands this tragic "truth." U.S. Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., and other black Democrats repeatedly insist that the men and women in the military "clearly come from the lowest economic echelon we have."

But are Kerry, Rangel and their fellow liberals right? Are our soldiers "stuck" with the duty of serving our nation? Well, unemployment is below 5 percent, which means there are plenty of jobs for even the dopiest Americans. And given that every officer in the military is required to have a college degree, it's not like they've got limited prospects. (About 92 percent of enlistees have high school diplomas, by the way, compared with 79 percent of the American population.)

And then there's this overlooked fact: Since 9/11, thousands of young American men from every walk of life have joined the military with the purpose and intention of putting themselves in harm's way in order to keep the rest of us out of harm.

Kerry looks at these young men and sees losers. Rangel sees desperate dead-enders. If the Democrats win the Nov. 7 elections, our soldiers in Iraq will look up at CNN and see these two men leering back at them, flush with victory.

I cannot cast that vote.

I'm going to vote for the suckers, the chumps, the boys from the bottom of the barrel. As they patrol the streets of Baghdad and kick down doors in Kandahar, they're going to know that, back home, at least one geeky guy in one lonely voter's booth has their back.

I can't fight the insurgents for them, and I can't protect them from violence. The Islamists' only tool is violence and they're going to keep bringing it, hoping that the American public will give them what our brave soldiers never will ‹ an Islamist Iraq that they can use to spread their terror and their power.

America's soldiers might be among the least impressive people Kerry knows, but they're doing the most important job in the world. It's a job Kerry's pinot-drinking, Sartre-reading, Euro-weenie pals aren't willing to do.

I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I knew when Kerry was nominated that it was time to turn my back on the Democrats. Kerry was the worst loser they could have picked. I cried when he was nominated. I had done my research, I won't enumerate all the things I found out here, most everyone here knows about Kerry ad nauseam.

Yep, the Poodle tossed a great big satchel charge spang into the bunker of RAT hopes. I haven't seen a poll which claims to factor in the voting pool's reaction but I'll wager a guess that the RATs are in damage control mode big time.

John Kerry is an elitist, amoral, ignorant nincompoop -- but more than that, he's dangerous. Kerry called my son a stupid loser, then Kerry called me crazy for believing those wonderful men and women in Iraq are INTELLIGENT, THOUGHTFUL, SACRIFICING HEROS and NOT the losers Kerry and his Democratic Party think they are, AND then Kerry apologized for me not appreciating his "joke". Dangerous people are no laughing matter.

They're called "parentheses" because they come in pairs, I think.

But what would I know? I used to be a soldier.

Looks like an uploading or downloading glitch of some sort. However, it does illustrate the hazards of overusing parentheses.

Just curious... are you looking down on city colleges? What is the difference between what you wrote and what Jon Carry said? Sounds like the same elitist attitude. I drive by Austin City College occasionally and see students in military uniforms quite often...

So Kerry still thinks you can be a drop-out and get in the service? You need a HS diploma or a GED or dropped out for a specific goal. You have to be trainable beyond basic training. There is a tech school or two after that to study for. They don't waste time on people that can't pass these things.

"Pasadena City College??? Yeah, like they're going to get top jobs if they study hard. HAhaHAhaHA!"

I question their judgement to see Kerry. I went to Pierce College in Woodland Hills to review the calculus series. No politics there. I needed to remember it.

"Dangerous people are no laughing matter."

And they give oxygen to the enemy.

That's why Lurch's own Party chained him down in one of his wife's cellars. Hopefully next to her. She has a dirty mouth too. And she can express herself in Portuguese until next Wednesday.

Now you can laugh.

My family that's now in the military worked for CNN. A 2-Star ask CNN to give him a tour. He has his masters and gave the general a tour. This 2-star was based in DC. By the time the tour was over, he was invited to visit the 2-star in DC staying with him at his home at Ft. McNair. By the time the visit was over, he had joined the Army. He has never never regretted it. He's a Captain soon to be a Major and is in Military Intelligence. And loves the military, is a conservative and always votes Republican.

And regardless of Alan Colmes, I am questioning Kerry's and many other Dem's patriotism. They would rather blame W than the the Islamofascists. That is either stupid or undermining America unstrung!
