"We have been ill served by the current generation of Republican leaders who fail to act conservative except at election time. Even Bush is not a real conservative as evidenced by his immigration policies and failure to veto even one spending bill. I expect Hillary, Obama, or whoever the Dems put up in 2008 to understand the power of communication just as James Carville and Bill Clinton did in 1992. Win or lose in 2006, the Republicans have 2 years to get their act together to formulate a message to energize the population and demonstrate leadership on the issues that matter."

AGREED. Our elected leaders need to be sent this message, loud and clear.

Interesting article:

Bad Weather Cuts Democratic Turnout

http://www.sptimes.com/2006/11/03/Worldandnation/Democrats_hope_rain__.shtml

From the article:
"Another explanation is that Democrats are more likely to be what political scientists call “peripheral voters,” people casually interested in politics who don’t feel compelled to vote in every election."

Like I said in previous post, the "feeling" I've been getting from Dems in my neighborhood is that this election doesn't interest them. Of course, I'm in Florida, and the sentiments in other states might be more intense than it is here.

I hope the Republican leadership realizes it can't continue to rely on a base that votes for the party out of fear for the alternative.

Fear of the alternative is good enough for me!

It's been so "looking not so good" for the losercrats that last Saturday they gave James Webb the mike to deliver the party's weekly radio address, hoping to knock the pedophile stuff from his novel off the front pages. Webb was so eager, he ran happily toward the mike and grabbed it in his arms, turned it upside down, and put it in his mouth.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!! GREAT LINE!!!

Just get out and vote on Tuesday. Don't punish The House Republicans because of what a few Senate RINO's did on a couple of issues.

Too many people forget that most of the Republicans in tight races are the very ones who saved us from the amnesty that was surely coming. Show some appreciation.

Secondly, no matter what the year, election, administration, or congressional makeup, you are never going to get everything you want. You have to look at this stuff realistically and say hey, we got Alito, we got Roberts, were going to get a couple more SCOTUS judges, we got big tax cuts, we got a 700 mile wall, we got an economy that's making you're pockets bulge, we got partial birth ban passed, we got an answer for terrorists around the world with no attacks in 5 years, etc, etc, etc....

I mean come-on people, we get none of this if the Dems were in power and we won't be able to build on any of it if the Dems get in power.

Common sense, common sense, common sense.

Vote damnit

Great John, thanks.

Well, here we are the weekend before the election, and the MSM / DNC slime machine is in full force. Since yesterday they have unleashed their "November Surprise" stink bombs:

- Military recruiters are caught lying on hidden camera

- An evangelical preacher is outed for a massage from a gay man and for buying drugs

- Etc.

I was listening to trash radio on the FM dial during the drive home from work yesterday, and the two Libs were giddy about the evangelical being "taken down." They echoed that the worst thing was not if he was gay or a meth user. Oh no. It was "hypocrisy!"

I thought to myself, "Doesn't this just prove that homosexuality is a terrible thing?" A caller asked the same thing. The FM jocks ganged up on the lady and attacked her as "another Christian hypocrite."

Hypocrisy is a sin - Christ condemned the Pharisees for it. But sin is still sin, and the Democrats and Liberals will never acknowledge that, because they hate God.

I don't know if they will win on Tuesdays, but if they do, it will be sand in their clenched fists. God is sovereign.

Whenever I start to regret the current Republican leadership descisions, I always think of how steadfast Ronald Reagan was in his leadership. He had to deal with bot Houses that were Democrat...and a host of Rhinos that make todays crowd look conservative. RR's eleventh commamdment...thous shall not speak ill of another Republican...clearly illustrates the difficulty he sometimes felt dealing with the RINOS of that time!!

I'd submit that the RAT House and Senate(actually, the GOP held the Senate from 81-87) that Ronaldus Magnus had to deal with weren't nearly as radical as the current moonbats who stand ready to take charge if we don't vote on Tuesday.

Fox News was showing Weasly Clark stumping for democrats. He was pure venom pure talking points for the DNC.

I am seeing two types of polls.

HEAVY push polls which are all about democrats.

and

a few whispered CYA polls from polsters who are trying to keep credibility for 2008 (see the late voter news service)

In the FYI, FWIW department:

Here's my brief report on what I saw with Georgia's Advance Voting Monday:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1728963/posts?page=20#20

And some followup here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1728963/posts?page=28#28

I've thought over what I saw, and I finally realized what my first impression of the crowd was...

"These are all talk radio listeners."

So the Republican base is motivated- highly motivated.

Stay tuned...

Polls in '04 had Kerry beating Bush. Kerry winning!

Sure, in July. RealClearPolitics had the average poll results going for Bush late in August and never changing. The average in the last two weeks prior to the election had Bush winning the popular vote by 1.5 percentage points, and he wound up winning it by 2.46 points. Not too shabby.

Here's a November surprise that must get out to the Press.
There are a couple of comments on here from DU that are totally disgusting!

In a stunning and historic trip under the utmost secrecy, a delegation of families of fallen U.S. troops have traveled to Iraq to counter critics of the war effort, just days before the Nov. 7 midterm elections.

I can't wait to see Charlie Cook and the other pollsters admit how they misread their polls after next Tuesday. Dreaming!

Latest media assault. Left-leaning Army Times prints an Editorial asking for Rumsfeld's resignation. I just hope most military folks know that those papers always tilt left.
